I purchased this product to carry my 16" widescreen laptop. There are very few (if any) cases that accomodate the 16" monitors becoming increasingly popular. I settled with a case made for a 17" laptop, and it works perfectly. My new HP9500 17" is wider then most and this notebook case has room to spare. Offers great protection and is very stylish to boot. I like the flat bottom so that it stands when you put it down. The leather is of good quality and should hold up for a long time. It's easy to carry. No qualms in recommending it. It's not a lightweight, but that's offset by storage for other items. I have an older well-traveled Targus case that is still in great condition. When our son-in-law needed a good laptop case, we got him the Targus TLE400 for Christmas. The price and value were excellent for this very good quality leather laptop case, and it has ample room for up to a 17" laptop and accessories. I looked for a case that put the laptop in the middle. This case has pockets on both sides and padding around the laptop in the middle. It has a velcro divider for the laptop section to keep it from sliding around. I found I can put the power code and the laptop in the middle pocket. This leaves space for other cables, pens, etc. on the one side and files on the other.
