I bought it for my dell vostro 1700 and am glad with my purchase especially because of the all black leather complements the all black colored Dell Vostro :). Its quite spacious too so you can keep several other travel accessories like mouse and stationaries. I have the laptop and was looking for the bag and was very hard to find the bag to fit the laptop.
I found one review from this bag that it fits the laptop so I bought and tried.
It perfectly fits the laptop but you have to be careful little bit when you remove or put your laptop in and out so the zipper won't scratch your laptop.

The Targus TLE400 is a perfect case for my Dell 17" laptop and my Canon LiDE90 scanner. The laptop and power cord fit nicely into the center compartment and the scanner fits into the "file compartment" side. There is plenty of room in the compartment on the opposite site of the case for the mouse, cables and miscellaneous items. I've had this bag for 6 years and im now on my 3rd laptop for this bag. but my new pc is too big for it (my new pc is 18inch and still fits in this 17inch bag just very snug) and i'm going to have get a new bag. but I highly recommend this laptop bag its sturdy it's been through about 20 airports and still looks new!! it's very durable i've never had anykind of damage to anything inside. top notch product!!Customer Review: Excellent for the traveling office

I have just started to put this laptop case to use. I find that it has amble room for not only my 17 inch laptop but also much of the other essentials for today's mobile office. It has a handy accessories to organize for the laptop as well as compartments for files, paper and digital media along with business card and pens & pencils holder. It's the perfect size as a carry-on. It is an excellent choice.
