Many years ago with my first laptop I bought a Targus briefcase in original skin, characterized by its sober design, quality, functionality and durability, soon bought, besides other briefcases, perfectly compatible Targus accessories that were from great quality and with my laptop Toshiba. This my experience is my second "Targus TLE400 17 Deluxe Leather Notebook Case" already had bought one for my first "Toshiba Satellite P205-S7482" being so good with first that I bought another one for my other "Toshiba Satellite P205-S7482" Until the present the Targus briefcases that I have bought have been characterized by its sober design, quality, functionality and durability, I am a buyer satisfied with Targus products and it would continue them buying in the future.

I recently purchased this to go with my new Dell 17" Vostro Laptop and have to say that it was priced $20 lower than a comparable bag made from synthetic materials at the local store, while it delivers exactly what it says, Leather bag suitable (and optimized) for use with a 17" Laptop computer. It is spacious but seems to meet the need to keep the laptop secured and has lots of pockets for various extras that I'll be carrying with my laptop. There's a pouch specific for carrying things in one pocket that can be attached through velcro attachment to the inside of one pocket-- It's spacious enough for the cord/power supply to my new computer.
All in all, a pleasant surprise to look so slick for so cheap a price.

I own a HP Pavilion zd8000 laptop with a 17" screen and I wanted to buy a light leather case for it. I searched HP website and they highly recommended the Targus TLE400 for my laptop. I am glad I bought it because my laptob is already 9 lbs in weight and all the other cases for sale out there are too bulky and too heavy. This case is very light considering is made of leather, it only weights 5.1 lbs.
Even though is a light case and it will accomodate a 17" screen comfortably and you still have room for the power cord and other miscellaneous components you might need to carry with you.
It's rugged and I am sure that it will last me a long time but at the same time Targus offers a Limited Lifetime Warranty, so you can't go wrong.

This is a great case, especially for the price. It is HUGE and will hold everything the average user needs to carry and then some. I carry an HP widescreen laptop AND a portable DVD player, portable desktop and other items and there is still room to spare. Would likely be considered too large for people who prefer a compact solution.
If you are looking for a case,which allows you to carry much more than a typical laptop case, this is it. As a matter of fact, I could probably carry my laptop, in its original case, inside this case.
Great compartments and organizers keep everything conveniently placed. Not as fancy or expensive looking as some cases, but well worth the price. I would gladly recommend this case.

Prior to purchasing this briefcase, I looked at many styles in varying price ranges, and read customer reviews for the ones in which I was most interested. Although a couple of reviews for this one indicated it had too much plastic on it, I feel there is just the right amount. I like leather, and have had several leather briefcases. The main problem is that over a little time, the bottoms get worn and rough looking because there is no protection for the leather. I also like how roomy this briefcase is, with enough size for my biggest laptop, accessories, note pads and more, and a very comfortable carry stray. I feel this was a good purchase and would recommend it to anyone looking for this kind of style, roominess and functionality.
