The batteries last a long time, this is good. This is a line of sight listening device, so if you stand up, turn or move you get static. These work really well as long as you tie yourself to the chair and don't move.Customer Review: voted worst...ever!

I can only think that the poor people, who gave a good rating to this product, are so profoundly deaf that they have absolutely no idea what quality sound is like. I can't remember the last time I actually spent money on such horrible garbage. These TV Ears aren't even good enough to give to someone I hate!
Ok, so here's a more technical review:
When connected to the TV they give off a loud buzzing sound if you walk more than 5 feet away from the transmitter. The sound quality is inferior and tinny. Honestly, the $60.00 set I bought from Radio Shack is far better. I am beginning to think that these are based on infrared technology that CANNOT transmit through walls...although the printed material that comes with the product does not say this. Be that as it may, the physical quality is lacking. They are NOT made with anything approaching craftmanship. They are made of the cheapest materials that can be found and are flimsy beyond belief. The charging cradle is inferior, If you do not play with them and make sure they lights are on, they will not charge. Considering the price tag, I expected far, far more.
Pretty much this product sucks and the company tech support sucks. The rep I talked to, Alison, wanted to know what TV output I had them plugged into. I told her the L and R RCA audio jacks. She told me the product would only work on ports labelled specifically "audio output". Now, I know a bit about electronics. THis is the same port I've had many headsets plugged into. Yet, Alison insisted it was incorrect. I encourage everyone to not waste their money on them, and I demand a full refund!
UPDATE: BTW, beware! I don't know about other seller policies. But, Gizmos For Life charges a 15% restocking fee if you return them for any reason. They also expect you to pay return shipping! This means you're out ~$40.00 just because you don't like them! Gizmos for Life and any other company with like policies are low life, low quality dealers. Don't buy from them.

After hooking up my TV EARS professional system in accordance with the provided instructions it did not work. It put out a constant hum. I called the factory rep and he had me rearrange the units and redo the jumpers. After 30 minutes we finally got it to work on the cable box and the DVD. After several hours it quit working on the DVD. (the DVD player sound was fine once I disconnected the EARs and plugged in the TV connections). Again I called the Tech and talked to the same guy, Mark. After checking the connectors again he insisted that it was my DVD player that had a problem. I have two identical model DVD players so I took the spare and hooked it up and got the same hum. He still insisted it was a DVD player problem - duh! I sent the unit back for a refund. I purchased the TV EARS PRO model, they had lots of static and buzz noise, called tech support and they asked tv brand, When I quoted Sony, they apologized and said they did not work well with Sony and to hook them direct to satellite box, that did not change anything, when I use the IR remote for tv, they really make noise. Retailer charges 15% restocking fee plus postage, really wish I had read this review before buying.Customer Review: TV EARS

Product failed to deliver as promised firstly the power stacker unit would not function, and then the headset had a short. These two issues came with the initial set-up and lets me know I will not (1) buy from this company in the future and/or (2) expect to hear something about correction in quality control. I have invested $7.45, considerable time, and transportation to the PO plus have nothing to show for the efforts.
