I am pleased with this product. I have to remove my hearing aids inorder for it to fit comfortably. The sound and tone controls are quite adequate.
About the only negative I have found is that the volume control is scratchy when adjusting it.

My father hadn't been able to listen to his TV very well for years so we thought we would try the TV Ears. The setup was simple enough and he loves them. I like that this unit hangs from the ears rather than covering them like most headsets. The plastic is fairly delicate and tends to break easily with repeated, daily use. Overpriced for what you get, too. My main complaint is that it picks up the signal from my iPhone(phone updates frequently with what sounds like morse code). And, it also picks up static from my energy-saving light bulbs, which is very annoying. Another issue is that the recharging base is badly designed. For the first six months of use, there was no problem. However, after that, when the ear unit was placed on the recharge base, the indicator light would not light up, so I had to resort to some quick fixes, which are too difficult to explain. TV Ears are a great idea, but poorly executed.
