I am a Linux user but sometimes use Windows and this USB drive works better between the two than SanDisk cruzer. The problem is SanDisk's embedded U3 software that you can't erase sometimes confuses my Linux computer. I didn't notice much difference in speed between the better-know SanDisk and this drive. One thing I like better about the Transcend drive is that it is smaller than most other brands, which really comes in handy when you have side-by-side USB ports or the USB is in a weird place (like on those Dell Omnis). Haven't used the software. Since these flash drives are very small so make sure you keep your eye on it. Once I thought I lost it but it was just hiding in my backpack. Overall I am very pleased with the 4GB version and will probably purchase another.Customer Review: What a Steal!

After purchasing a few SD cards from Transcend I decided to give them another try with this flash drive, since the cards worked great. Again, as I expected, this brand has been an outstanding alternative to the more popular brands. I bought a similar product (name brand) from Big Lots a few days before I bought this one on Amazon, and I see absolutely no difference. Both work wonderfully, and every now and then Transcend's products will be on sale here for the most amazing prices (the SD cards I mentioned were $.29 a piece!), compared to the other brands. I highly recommend this product as well as other products from this wonderful brand :)Customer Review: Wow! A flash drive!

Wow! It's so simple! All you have to do is plug the Transcend flash drive into the USB port of your computer! Then all you have to do is click Start > Documents > My Documents. When the My Documents folder comes up, all you have to do is select and copy your folders. Then you go to your desktop and click on the My Computer icon! Then you click on the "Removable Disk (F:)" icon. Then you click on Edit > Paste!
Now the next time my computer comes down with a virus, I won't be losing all my stuff!
Well, you asked me to review this item, Amazon. What did you expect me to say? It's a flash drive, for Chrissakes.

I have had this for over a year and a half now. I am very pleased with it. It is a fast reliable flash drive, with a good amount of capacity. What I really like about it is the JetFlash utility that comes with it. I can encrypt and store some of my more sensitive data in the secret directory on the device so if I loose it I don't have to worry about it too much.
I think it can probably be hacked by someone who really wants access to it, but I think they would have to invest some time at it and it would be safe from the average person that might get their hands on it.

This flash drive was just what I needed! I was able to put all my information onto one drive, instead of constantly switching between my smaller drives. The Plug and Play means it works with all my machines, whether I am on my work desktop, the laptop, or my home PC. I was looking for a flash drive with a lot of space but that wouldn't cost me an arm and a leg. This drive is small, efficient, and has plenty of room on it, for a fraction of the cost the electronics store wanted! Why pay more when you can get it all for less?!
