I bought this card together with a new Canon 990IS Powershot digital camera because I read that the card that ships with the camera holds roughly 4 photos--more like 2 photos! So far, I've put 563 photos @ 14.7 megapixel resolution and about 2 min. of high-def video on the Transcend card with no problems -- no delays, no "card full" messages. I've also used it with the Transcend Multi-card Reader to upload photos on my old Mac Powerbook G4 (running Tiger OS) and my new MacBook Pro (running Leopard OS), and it functions just like a mini-hard drive. There isn't much to say about an SD card. Either it works or it doesn't. This one works just fine for me in my Sanyo Xacti CG6 hybrid video/digicam. No problems for me. I should note that the CG6 is NOT an HD resolution camera - 640 x 480 only.
One point to keep in mind, and I knew this before I bought it but didn't think about it until after, is that these high capacity (>2mb) SD cards are not readable using older card readers. I can't use it in my portable card reader or in the built-in card reader on my 3 year old computer. I must connect the camera to a USB port in order to copy files from this card to my computer.

I love the Transcend cards, have always bought them for my cameras. I find that, dollar for dollar, they are the best value and quality than any other card on the market. I own a Canon Rebel and take a lot of pictures. To me, the optimum size is this 8GB for storage. I usually take two of these cards with me when I go on vacation and, although I take a ton of pictures, usually still come back with some room on the cards. I highly recommend this brand and size of memory card for any amateur photographer out there. THIS IS A MUST HAVE CARD FOR A SERIOUS PHOTOGRAPHER. THE RAPID READ TIME ON THIS CARD IS GREAT FOR CAMERAS WITH " BURST " MODE SHOOTING. IT IS ALSO A CLASS 6 CARD THAT CAPTURES THE HIGHEST QUALITY IN COLOR AND SHARPNESS AND IS GREAT FOR DISTANCE SHOTS WITH TELEPHOTO LENS. ALONG WITH ALL THIS YOU HAVE THE GREAT 8 GIG CAPACITY OF THE CARD WHICH IS AWESOME FOR BURST AND VIDEO MODES. IF YOU NEED A CARD WITH HIGH CAPACITY AND HIGH READ SPEED, THIS IS THE CARD FOR YOU. This card is able to hold a complete DVD movie, thousands of songs/photos, or just serve as a backup device for one's files.
It operates very well - I now have purchased 3 and with each use its value becomes more apparent.
One word of caution - even though most laptops and systems have an SD card slot, older computers may not be able to recognize or write to this card. Make sure your system has the ability to read SDHC configured products.
If you do not have an SD slot you can purchase an tiny SD reader (very inexpensive) that plugs into your USB port.
