When I got my Pentax KX there were warnings in the reviews about how much storage space the JPG and RAW files could take up. I got two of these so I could switch if need be while I transfered pictures to my laptop. I have never had a problem with running out of space or needing to switch to the backup card, except if I was in a prime photo op and couldn't leave the camera off long enough to download the photos! This would hold all the photos I could probably shoot in a weeks time.
I have had strange messages from my antivirus program that indicate infected temp files while downloading my photos. I have also had some RAW files come up as not retrievable. I will have to see if this persists and try the second card to see if it resolves the problem.

I bought this memory card for my Canon SD1100is, it works great and at 8MP can hold about 1,900 pictures. If only I would have waited until they came out with the frustration-free packaging for this! That was by far the most annoying part, trying to get into the thing. This card is a really really good deal. I went to the supermarket and they were trying to sell 2GB cards for $15. I bought this 8GB card from Amazon for my underwater digital camera, and was able to use the highest pixel settings. I could save my pics with really good resolution. My camera, which normally would have taken around 200 pictures was able to take over 600+! (I don't actually know the maximum that my camera can hold because for my entire week long trip, I never once had to change my memory card. I felt bad for my poor friend who had to keep switching out her 2GB cards.
The price Amazon offers for this card (currently approx $25 with free shipping is totally worth it.)

This product works very well. The only problem I had was when I took it to Walmart to print photos, the computers could not read it directly. When I inserted it into the slot, the computer froze. I took it to CVS and it did the same thing. I was frustrated. However, I decided to us my SD card reader instead and it worked perfectly. Since then I have not experienced any problem. It works fine with my computer and camera.
I recommend it to any one who takes lots of pictures and like video recording like me. I recorded one hour video and it was great. I don't have to worry about deleting pictures to create more space. I have plenty of space. Go for it!

I ordered 3 of these though with some apprehension since I've never previously owned any Transcend products. However now that I've been shooting 100s of pictures with my 12 megapixel SLR I can say that these are great cards for a very good price. At this class level these memory cards are super speedy for action shots, something that a nice set of Blue Angels pictures I snapped using these cards proved.
The only drawback and I'm assuming it's because the cards cost $15 each is that they don't come with the usual containers that other SD cards include. Annoying but fortunately I had enough containers from old SD cards that I could re-purpose but be forewarned!
