Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Transcend 8 GB Class 6 SDHC Flash Memory Card TS8GSDHC6

Customer Review: Perfect companion to Canon G9
Summary: 5 Stars

I bought this for using in my Canon G9 for shooting in RAW mode. Shooting RAW take a lot of space, but the ability to adjust shots in post processing is totally worth it. I wanted to be able to fit enough shots on this card to make shooting RAW practical. I can get 459 RAW shots on my G9 with this card (according to the camera display), and I haven't run out of space while shooting (yet). Besides, there is really no reason to skimp on storage these days since prices are reasonable.

If you have a camera (or other device) that accepts and uses SDHC cards, I recommend it. I get good RAW mode shooting performance, speedy data transfers, and can shoot a whopping 1459 HQ JPEGs in Auto mode. If you use the video mode with your camera, you'll appreciate the longer recording times too.

Customer Review: Works fine~
Summary: 5 Stars

Got this memory card right before taking a vacation to Hawaii. It worked fine; was formatted properly and didn't have any problems with camera; a Canon S10, btw... Got home and downloaded the photos onto two different computers before deleting the photos from the card. One computer downloaded the 212 pixs pretty quickly; say 5 minutes. The other computer took at least 15 minutes. This tells me something about my different computers as opposed to the memory card. I do wish that it downloaded faster. I am not sure whether the "class 6" cards are the fastest available or not. Btw, my photos were 10 Megapixels in size so they were not small. I would include some photos but who would want to see pixs of good looking girls in bikinis on a Hawaiin beach????

Customer Review: BEST VALUE FOR 8GB SDHD CARD
Summary: 5 Stars

I can't remember exactly how much I paid for this and I think it's cheaper now than it was before, but I do remember thinking what a great deal it was. I have a Canon PowerShot SD750 7.1MP Digital Elph Camera with 3x Optical Zoom (Silver) and though it came in handy when resort hopping around Lake Tahoe, the 2GB disk I had didn't quite cut it. My fiance and I had taken a lot of pictures and video clips on the slopes and had to dump the pictures onto our macbook (thank goodness we brought it along) each day of our trip. We haven't had any concerns with this 8GB disk but now I think we're lazy about transferring the pictures to our hard-drives since we have all that room!

Customer Review: Great card for my Pentax K20D
Summary: 5 Stars

I bought a pair of these for a recent research photo trip in Asia with my Pentax K20D 14.6MP Digital SLR Camera with Shake Reduction (Body Only).

Inexpensive and 100% reliable...I shot 7,000 pix in 9 days without a single problem either loading them with images or downloading to my computer.

One reviewer points out the only "downside" saying "The closest thing to a "Con" that I can think of is that if you buy this card now, it will probably become cheaper in a month or so :) No, make that 2 weeks."

Actually it's been six months and they've only come down about two bucks so there's no sense waiting to buy this reliable card. (-:

Customer Review: Fast card for your big data storage / moving needs
Summary: 5 Stars

I wanted this card because at some point I was taking videos and photos of a family reunion over a week and only wanted to keep one card with me at all times (too easy to lose those puppies on the road). Writes fast (not sure it goes up to 6MB/s in write but at least 4MB/s which is enough for me) and reads up to 18MB/s in the best conditions which greatly reduce time it takes to dump all those pictures onto a hard drive.
I haven't used it for things like ReadyBoost or as additional memory for netbook which would be great.
At this time of writing, the highest capacity for SDHC cards is 32GB so the 8GB size it about the best cost/value you can get but since SD(HC) memory card price are falling faster than the price of gas, don't let that hold you back!
