Plug into your computer's port with the microphone symbol (standard 3.5mm A/V jack or whatever it's called).
I put it between the handset and the telephone base.
Works with old school rotary telephones from the 80s.
Works with magicJack VoIP.
If it works with both of those new and old pieces of hardware, even at the same time, then my guess is that it will probably work with most anything you've got, so long as the connectors are physically compatible.
Just make sure the switch is set to "REC" then start your computer's sound recording software.
(Windows Vista has it as Start menu --> All Programs --> Accessories --> Sound Recorder)
