Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Guitar Hero 1 Pro Jammin' ControllerCustomer Review: DON'T BUY THE SHREDDER (AKA: JUNKER) GUITAR! Summary: 1 StarsI bought this from Fry's and thought it was broke, so I exchanged it for another of the same guitar. It still acts broke. Frets get stuck, shake it for star power, wammy you have to slam it like crazy to work, It's cheap junk, that cost me $45.00, Not worth buying. Take it back if you have the chance. I hate the people who made this piece of junk!
Customer Review: Decent Alternative (for Guitar Hero 1) Summary: 3 StarsUpdate: Don't buy this thing. It doesn't work with Guitar Hero 2.
When I first received this guitar controller I thought it was possibly broken because, it was shipped via UPS without any extra padding (enough said). The guitar controller had what sounded like loose parts on the inside but, I've detrimed it to be the mechanism that activates star power. You must shake this controller instead of tilting it upright to activate star power. I like having more than one type of guitar controller to play and this controller is a good alternative but, I don't think they should be charging more for this model. I am not sure why my fellow reviewers are less satified with their purchase. The strum bar is more loose than the SG controller but, on the harder difficulty levels it actully helps to have a strum bar that isn't so stiff. Also, the fret buttons don't need to be pressed in as hard so, that is also nice for the harder difficulty levels. If you don't plan on mastering the game on the expert difficuty level then, you probably won't think this is a good purchase. This is a shedder Guitar for Shedders. If you go buy a real guitar you'll notice that there a alot of differnt styles and, each guitar feels different in a number of ways. These guitar controllers are no different. It's all about personal preferance and, everyone is different. All that being said, Looks are the best thing this controller has going for it.
Customer Review: this thing SUCKS Summary: 1 StarsFor several reasons, this thing sucks:
1 - It's a china knockoff made of CHEAP materials. I can tell this thing isn't going to last many rounds.
2 - The strum button is loose and "clacky", the fret buttons get stuck.
3 - Star-power doesn't work, not the traditional way at least (pointing the end up). I don't know if this is by design or by shipping damage (keep reading).
4 - the shorter/smaller design of the guitar actually causes wrist pain right away. Since you have your arm closer to your body, now you have to angle your wrist outwards more to reach the fret buttons, causing a pinch in your wrist.
When I received this item, it was shipped in the RETAIL BOX, yes, the one with NO PADDING or any sort of packaging material on the inside to prevent from damage. The vendor decided to ship it like this, rather than package it in a box w/ padding, so ofcourse when I got the box, it was CRUSHED. I don't know if this broke the "star-power" function or if it just never came with it.
In conclusion, this was the worst item I've ever purchased. I've contacted the vendor to send the item back and get a refund, but he has NOT replied.
Don't pay $20 extra for a cheap knockoff that doesn't even WORK properly. STAY AWAY from this item and also from the vendor "1sourcegaming".
Customer Review: Don't Buy It! Summary: 1 StarsMy girlfriend & I bought this thinking it would be a great controller. (I mean, look at it. If you play Guitar Hero, its hard to resist the temptation to get this). However, this controller is awful. The whammy bar and strummer are very loose. The fret buttons have a tendency to get stuck. Also, you have to shake it in order to use the Star Power. The funny thing is, as soon as we saw the box, we knew it was a "bootleg" item. I wish we had taken pics of the box but, trust me, as soon as you see it you know its a knockoff. Do yourself a favor and buy the guitar controllers from the makers of Guitar Hero.
