the goose neck works very well for me. i'm a gamer and use this for talking over ventrillo.
i've purchased 3 headsets(which hurt my big ears over time) and this is my 2nd mic. the first was a logitech which worked well initially. but later i had problems with people trying to hear me,even after i performed the mic test in windows. friends told me to try a mic that connect to computer via a dedicated line in jack instead of usb.
i haven't had a problem and have used this product since dec 2009
