Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Sunpak 620-060 TripodCustomer Review: First Tripod - Smart Design Summary: 5 Stars
This is my first tripod. I took a photography class at the local college this semester.
This tripod is not as sturdy as the ones that you could check out from the college, but it doesn't need to be. Its design is hands-down the best I've used. It is light and allows for a pretty good range of motion. I was mostly impressed with the leg design--very easy to extend and retract the legs (the latches are well placed and well designed). The tripod made it very easy for me to carry it and set it up around town.
It also stows quickly and compactly, allowing for easy car-roaming photography.
At the price, I don't think you could do better.
Customer Review: Sunpak 6601D Tripod Summary: 5 Stars
Very good value for this tripod. I am using it for multiple purposes. I have already tried it on all 3 with great success. I use it with our digital camera and we took a great family picture. The dvd video camera we have attaches easily and we took very good film of some softball games already, very steady and easy to set up. The third use is for my chronograph when working up handloads for my rifles and it works great especially with the levels. I would definitely recommend this product for anyone at this great price. The extra quick mount base is very convenient and it is left with the video camera so we always have it available at a moments notice.
Customer Review: Debated for a long time -- but glad I bought it!! Summary: 5 Stars
I'm really happy with this tripod. I looked in Best Buy at tripods, and a lot of them felt cheap, even when they were $100 or more! This does not feel cheap to me at all. It is light but feels VERY durable. I only use it once in a while, inside on flat ground - and it works perfectly. All of my cameras are attachable to this tripod, and it has SO many positioning options. This tripod extends VERY high - so high that it's too high for me at it's tallest setting (I'm 5'4", though).
If you are looking for a cheap, light weight, portable, durable, sturdy, adjustable, convenient, and inexpensive tripod -- this is definitely for you.
Customer Review: Better than expected. Summary: 5 Stars
Update September 2008...The price of this tripod has increased over time. I paid $20. My original review was based on that. If I was looking for one today, I would not consider this one due to the cost.
Original 2005 review:
I bought this tripod because the features sounded good, there were some good reviews, and the price was right. Even so, I expected a $20 tripod. No way. This is comparable to some $30 and $40 ones I checked out before buying this one. Make no mistakes...this is not professional grade. But if you use it like I do (every now and again with my digital camera), this is a great tripod for the money.
Customer Review: Best Tripod for the Money Summary: 5 Stars
When I pulled it out of the box I was at first surprised at how sturdy it was. The camera fit perfectly, the quick release clamp is a plus, and the built in level makes lining up a snap. Also, it comes with spiked feet for carpet/outdoor use but you can lower the rubber feet around the spikes for places with hard surfaces.
Honestly I was expecting this by the inexpensive price tag on it.
This tripod is not a top of the line but, it has many features of such. If you need to do precision adjustments, this is not for you but, if you are taking closeups or portraits this will be be perfect.
