Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Eforcity Black 6FT /2 Meter HDMI Male to DVI Male Cable

Customer Review: Great cable no complaints
Summary: 5 Stars

I bought two of these DVI to HDMI cables from efrocity. One in 6ft length and one in 25ft. I'm using them both to go to a dual monitor set up for my computer how ever i wanted a longer one that i could pop out of the monitor and run across the room to the 40" Bravia. the picture quality is perfect and the cables had held up to the abuse of me popping them out and in over and over again when i re-arrange things to make sure the set up is just right. I have had them for two weeks so far and have no complaints what so ever.

some things other people should know about these cables.

1st they are really cheap(price not quality, quality seems more than good enough for my standards)

2nd they work great

3rd shipping to NY just took a few days

4th these cables DO NOT transfer audio( not that I expected them to but my video card does output audio through the DVI so I was curious to see if they did, any one else wondering the same, they don't but oh well)

Customer Review: Just as good as the "Monster" cables.

Please do not waste your money on expensive cables from Best Buy, Micro Center, etc. I bought this thing to hook up my PS3 to my 1080p Samsung (DHCP-supporting) monitor, it works like a charm, picture quality is literally flawless. I also bought an "Audio Splitter, 3.5Mm Stereo Male To 2 RCA Female" and a 3.5mm coupler. Then I hooked up the PS3's standard in-the-box Composite cable and sent only the audio through it, hooked up the audio to the RCA-to-3.5mm converter, then hooked up the coupler to the end of that to hook it up to an extension 3.5mm cable, and finally into the "Audio In" port on my Computer. Then I selected in Windows 7 to play this port through the speakers.

Basically what I'm saying is, Remember that while HDMI has audio support, DVI has no audio support, thankfully PS3 has dual-output support so you can send audio through a different port than your sending the video through.

Customer Review: It does its job and does it well...

At just over $[...] shipped, this is a very cheap cable. It works beatifully too (that's the beauty of digital video, it either works perfectly or it doesn't..."signal degradation" with digital signals is largely a myth created by those who'd sell you cables that cost more than the components you're connecting with them). I use this on my primary PC, going from the DVI port on the video card to the HDMI port on my 23" ASUS LCD monitor. All I had to do was connect it, start the PC and it worked (well, I did adjust my resolution to get the best picture). The picture quality is great, no wavy or jagged lines to speak of. HD video looks particularly good. I could have paid $[...] for a cable at a local retail store (and that's not even a bad price for them...some cost well over $[...]), but I'd rather wait a day or two to get a cable that's just as capable at a fraction of the cost.

Customer Review: good for the price

I bought this cable a couple of weeks ago hoping to be able to display 1920 by 1080 on my plasma tv from my computer. The picture quality is great when displaying 1280 by 1024, but when I set it to 1920 by 1080 the picture is not that good. The picture is sharper than my old vga cable setup, but it is not like when I watch blu ray. This may be due to my plasma tv rated at 720p native resolution, so it doesn't display 1080p material well. Nevertheless, I only need the cable to display 1280 by 1024 which it did very well, so I'm perfectly happy with this cable. The higher resolution causes the fonts and icons to become too small to read anyway.
Update: After having the cable for over a year I'd recommend the cable to anyone. The cable handles 1080p signal very well. I used the cable for my pc for a 1920 X 1080 monitor and it worked superbly.

Customer Review: Hookup PS3 to older HDTV sets
Summary: 5 Stars

This cable works very well and you can't beat the price. I used it to connect an older Sony HDTV set that does not have HDMI, only DVI or component video for HD programming. I was able to connect my PS3 and am now able to get the maximum my set can produce 1080i. The only difficulty is audio but I was able to use the PS3 included analog audio/video cable and found a setting on the PS3 under Sound Settings for multi output meaning the RCA audio cables give me sound and this cable the video. HDMI unlike DVI carries both video and audio and the PS3 sees this as an HDMI cable so by default it disables the analog cables. I highly recommend this for anyone with older HDTV sets that have DVI inputs.
