Customer Review: One of the highest rated mice in the world

Reading up on the SteelSeries Ikari Laser on Amazon, revealed one review, where it received a 1/5 rating. Which was btw the only only review that reviewer had posted. As with all PC peripherals, especially mice, a lot comes down personal preference and taste.. But it's does seem weird that someone what be so in much disagreement with the rest of the world.
Since SteelSeries Ikari Laser was released, it has become one of the highest rated mice on the market. It has scored more than 10 (ten) perfect scores from hardware review sites, and a number of other scores in the 9.x/10 range. All praising the features, the technology and the ergonomics.

Also, the comment about the mouse not being suitable for FPS gaming is off the mark. Kapio from the german multi-gaming organization "mousesports" won the Extreme Masters II Counter-Strike tournament at CeBit this year, using the mouse. His team won $50,000 USD. Made in Brazil, another professional gaming team, took second place at Dreamhack just a few weeks ago. Two of the players were using the SteelSeries Ikari Laser.
The mouse itself was designed with testing and feedback from professional gamers, including compLexity and Team 3D in the US. Since they were all FPS gamers, it would naturally result in a mouse that would be (at the very least) suitable for FPS gamers.
I took part in the design of the mouse and have early been reading all the reviews and feedback from the market, so it was a little weird seeing such a negative comment. Especially since it totally goes against everything else I am seeing on the market. Hopefully this blurp gives potential users a chance to make an informed decision.

Unlike other gaming mice i've owned, the Ikari seems to add all the best features and leaves-out all the annoying ones others like to bundle-in.
I finally have the right balance of physical and software controls I've been wanting. I'm not sure who develops their drivers and technologies, but I feel like I have more accuracy and the mouse aims exactly where I want it be, and not where the computer thinks I'm aiming at.
The grip is made of a great material, and ergonomic layout is perfect.
Seems like every LAN and event I go to, SteelSeries is there or donates prizes . . . that's how I found-out about them. Nice support of the gaming community! Seems like others never give back, then try to copy SteelSeries' innovations (but fail).

As a professional ergonomist (but not a gamer), I judge the overall ergonomics benefits of this mouse far far outweigh the negative (especially for gaming) of it being somewhat difficult to lift up for repositioning. It has become my mouse of choice, and I have tried many many mice. The thumb support and 4th finger and pinky support along with it's general contours, sensitivity control and well positioned Back button, put this mouse ahead of all or almost all other mice on the market. I would strongly recommend this mouse to most right handed computer users. I suggest that the mouse be marketed to the broader market (not just gaming market) as an excellent "Ergonomic Mouse," which it is.Customer Review: Gaming Geek Gives His Opinion

This will be the last mouse i buy for awhile. It's solid, it feels good in my hand and works very well. I had no idea how much I'd appreciate the driver-less design until i used it.
That's a really nice feature.
This is a best in class mouse from a company whose products i have never before tried. This mouse has me looking forward to future products from SteelSeries.
Customer Review: Great Gaming and General Purpose Mouse

My Logitech MX1000 Laser Mouse quit charging, so I had to find a replacement. I play a fair amount of WoW, and this mouse works great for it. It's nice enough that I'm considering buying one to use at work too.
I paired it with a Razer eXactMat and eXactRest Bundle - Mouse Pad and Wrist Rest and it's amazingly smooth. Barely any effort for quick precise movements. Plus the precision is adjustable without software. This mouse doesn't have all the fancy features of some of the competitors. It's simple, with just what you need. I can't recommend it more.
