Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Speck ToughSkin Rubberized Case with Belt Clip for 80/120/160 GB iPod classic 6G (Black)Customer Review: Great Investment! Summary: 5 Stars
I chose this particular case for several reasons; 1- The texture on the outside. It has indentations for great gripping and no slipping. 2- the material protects without attracting a lot of lint. 3-The click-wheel is not covered, so there is no problem with useage. 4- The screen has a hard plastic screen that slips under the lip of the case. 5- all ports are open and accessible. Please note- The case has an insert that you use with the new classics, this makes it thicker than the actual ipod, about the same thickness as the oldler classics. (but, it will add to the protection). The clip is big, (removeable) but will be secure! I think this case is better than the iskin I had on my older 20 gig!
Customer Review: Heavy duty cover Summary: 5 Stars
This is a heavy duty cover. Fits my new 160 GB iPod perfectly. I like it because I can throw it in my purse, on the car seat, clip it on the outside of my bag and not worry about the ipod getting damaged. I use mine mostly for exercise, plug into the car and just generally throw it in my purse so that I can put it on anytime I'm out. The clip is a strong one and is essential for me to wear it during exercise so it doesn't come off. The case protects it if it falls on the floor, etc. I like the fact that I can toss it on the car seat, on a chair, basically anywhere and not worry that it's going to get damaged in this case. It's not a sleek "girly" case that is for sure.
Customer Review: Disaster Averted. The "Tough" in Toughskin is no hype. Summary: 5 Stars
After reading the many positive reviews, I purchased the Speck Toughskin for my 160 Classic. It's stylish (each of my 3 brothers ordered one after seeing mine) and more importantly to me it does exactly what it says: saves your Ipod.
I ordered this a day after receiving my new 160-Ipod. Two days after receiving it, I had exited my car at the supermarket, got distracted and my Ipod slips out of my hand and smack!! hits concrete. I'm staring down at it with the utter certainty it's died a sudden death.
Needless to say, it didn't and has been in perfect working order. So for $18 or so (including shipping)my Ipod was protected. Well worth the money.
Customer Review: Bounce Test Summary: 5 Stars
I had to spend a couple of days in the hospital getting zapped with radiation and took my Ipod 80GB Classic with me in this case. Three times it was dropped down to the hard floor from hospital bed height and it survived them all. I was required to lie totally flat for two days at a stretch, I was able to handle this with 80 GB of jazz and what-not on the Ipod to pass the time. I was more than happy when my player was fetched from the floor several times and remained in perfect working condition following the Inadvertent Bounce Tests. Was it the case that saved the day? Who knows, but it did survive, as did I and we are both still playing...
Customer Review: A great case and a great company Summary: 5 Stars
This case makes the iPod very easy to grip. The belt clip rotates well and grips well. The rubber protects the iPod very well from drops. The only thing that is not protected is the click wheel. When I travel, I keep the iPod in cheap camera case with the headphones so that it is protected.
When I first received my TouchSkin, the clip was not securing tightly to the case because the piece that holds it was stuck. I sent the company an e-mail. A few days later, they sent me THREE replacement clips for free. This level of customer service is not seen these days so I am very happy with my purchase.
