Yeah, it makes the iPod a little bulkier but I am so glad I got a ToughSkin. The rubber bumpers on the side help protect it against drops. The rubber casing gives me a better grip on the iPod.
I've tried some of the other cases. Some were just a thin layer of rubber that helps protect against scratches mostly.
I had another one that was made of solid aluminum but the hinges snapped.
I wish my friend got a ToughSkin but he dropped his iPod video after only 2 days. Apple won't replace it because it was user damage. It would've stood a better chance if he had encased it in a ToughSkin.
I have complete confidence in my ToughSkin.

Works well with my 160 GB iPod. I remove the case frequently so I can put the iPod in a waterproof housing while I soak in the hot tub.
The case comes off easily, and reassembles easily as well. The extra faceplate protector works as advertised, and it comes with a belt clip that is easily removed from a hooklike thing on the back of the case if you don't need it. Unfortunately you end up with a bump on the back of the case from the hook thingie.
I haven't dropped the iPod, so I can't vouch for its protective capabilities, but it certainly prevents scratches and minor dings. And the price is right.

I love this case, it's very durable, and the screen-protector is wonderful.
To those saying it is too loose - did you find the extra piece of rubber inside the cardboard insert that looks like an iPod? It also protects your ipod from the plastic clip attachment. I was really disappointed how loose it was until I found that piece, put it in, and then it was great.
It's still a bit loose at the very top, but the way the iPod is designed, I don't think there's any getting around that.
I love it, I feel like my gadget is very well protected in this case.

This toughskin cover fits snug on my 30G iPod. I especially like the hard plastic cover that protects my screen. And its great to have the click wheel exposed so its more sensitive to touch. I purchased a separate clear, paper-thin plastic cover that wraps around the whole pod and then put it in the Speck toughskin cover so the click wheel is protected from dust and dirt that way. The most important part to protect is the screen and this does that better than anything I've seen on the market. Great product! This skin is great, its tough and makes your ipod look armored, i use it on my 60 gb 5G video ipod. It doesnt come with instructions. So i didnt know the spacer was for a 30 gb ipod, and spent some time jamming it in there, wondering why it wouldnt fit. So visit the website first. IT PICKS UP LINT VERY EASILY so be aware of that. The belt clip doesnt "click" so its free to rotate. If you are used to cell phone clips that lock in place, well too bad. Its great in every aspect that makes it functional though. Buy it. Havent tested with docks though.
