If you already own a Macbook, you'll know that it's a peach of a machine. It's got aesthetics for days!
Well, enter Speck Products Satin Soft Touch Hard Shell Case--in a 13.3 size. Remember when I said aesthetics? The case adds even more class, and keeps you in incognito mode. It's properly vented, and has pre-cut side compartments for your cd/dvd rom, and various ports, inputs, etc... Oh, and it also has bottom vents as well. They thought of everything.
The so-called weight was not a factor at all. It weighs practically nothing. You can carry it like you would a book. Since I really don't want to do that, I'll be purchasing a Macbook bag of some kind to keep it looking spiffy.
I tell you, this case is one with my Macbook.

I bought this, not so much to protect from scratches, which it does nicely, but to keep the macbook from slipping out of my hand. When I pick my $1600 macbook up, the smoothness of the aluminum caused me to almost drop the computer numerous times. This case has a "tackiness" to it that improves my grip on this expensive device. The cover is worth every penny for this reason alone. I hated to cover my shiny aluminum friend, but if it keeps it from falling out of my hands... you gotta do what you gotta do. This product is an excellent hardshell cover for the Aluminum Unibody Macbook. Fits perfectly and look great. It is partially translucent so that you can see the apple logo and all the other lights (such as the battery indicator) through the plastic. Really neat, and the satin texture helps with gripping the unit when moving around. The only problem I have with it is that when it gets dirty, it is very obvious. I have several hand marks on mine that I need to clean off. Either than that excellent product :).Customer Review: Great protection for Macbook

I was looking for something to protect my Macbook from everyday wear and tear and this does just that. It's smooth to the touch and keeps your Macbook scratch free. I didn't think aluminum could scratch so easily but I was wrong. Anyone looking to protect their Macbook without adding too much bulk or limiting it in anyway should buy this. There was a problem tracking the shipment via USPS, but that's my only complaint -- the package arrived promptly. This is a very nice shell-type case. Fits perfectly and snapped on with ease. Stylistically, the "soft touch" matte-black surface brings the elan of the old black MacBook to the new aluminum MacBook. The black case harmonizes nicely with the MacBook's black keyboard and screen bezel.
