Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Speck PixelSkin Rubberized Case for iPod touch 2G, 3G (Black)

Customer Review: Extremely protective iPod touch case worth the money
Summary: 5 Stars

This case is made from a silicone like substance. It is very protective of the back and sides of the iPod. The front is somewhat protected thanks to the thick lip of the case on the front. The material of the case makes it easy to grip and unlikely to slide if placed on a surface. The texture cut in the material allows your hand to breathe if you hold it for a long time. The holes at the bottom does not interfere with the power cord or the audio cable. The lock/power button, volume buttons, and home button are all marked on the exterior of the case. If you need more protection for the screen, I would suggest getting a screen protector. It is unlikely that any case can provide more protection than this and I find the case to be worth the expense.

Customer Review: Slim and Easy
Summary: 5 Stars

My two favorite things about the Speck PixelSkin case are that its easy to slip on and off, and it makes my iTouch easier to handle (less slippery) without adding too much bulk. I can charge with the case on but it gets in the way when I try to plug into my stereo so the fact that the Speck slides right off is convenient. And its just as easy to put back on when I'm headed out the door. The rubber texture makes my iTouch more grip-able, gives it protection from bangs, and as a bonus it looks cool, yet its still slim and easy to slide in my pocket, and the case itself hugs the iTouch so it doesn't slip around inside. I've had other rubber cases in the past that eventually tore but this is stronger quality. The Speck satisfies my needs very well.

Customer Review: Very Good Case
Summary: 5 Stars

I bought this for a friend of mine who recently upgraded his ipod from the ancient button ipod to an ipod touch. Not knowing much about what would be a good fit for the newer ipods, he left it to me to find him a good case. After reading the reviews for this case, I purchased it as well as some of the ikross screen protectors for him for cheap. While it doesn't give as much protection as a hard case might, its a fantastic light case. The case is a snug fight without being insanely tight as well as leaving the buttons easily accessible through the silicone.

All in all, I would recommend this case, as well as some plastic screen protectors, to anyone looking to find a great way to protect their new favorite toy.

Customer Review: Happy and product as expected
Summary: 5 Stars

I use this product 100% of the time with my iPod touch. It appears to sufficiently protect the iPod from casual use which may include bumps here and there. I also like the fact that part of the rubber material covers the home button entirely.

The only aspect of this product I'm not a huge fan of is the design/pattern of the rubber. I'm not a fan of the block or brick design, and I'd surely buy a different pattern if the SAME manufacturer would make one. NOTE: I bought this item knowing this was the design. The item is still good quality, and I'm happy to deal with the design as is considering that everything else about the product is great. Some others may be very happy with this design.

Customer Review: Buttons are easier with case on
Summary: 5 Stars

One nice thing that nobody else has mentioned yet is that this case is molded well so that pressing the volume button and sleep button on the iPod touch 2g is made easier by the case being on. I think the case does exactly what you want it to do, but obviously it does not protect the screen if you drop the iPod. It is really handy because it's a little tacky. One other thing is that I use my ipod as an alarm clock and I have to remove the ipod from the case because the case tends to dampen the sound of the built-in speaker a little bit. Overall it's a very nice case. I think it's more comfortable to hold and less slippery with the case on than without the case.
