Wasn't quite sure what ths was from the description, but was very pleased after I put it on my 2nd Gen Touch. It makes this unit easy to hold and more difficult to slip out of your hand. Since I received mine, I have seen a slick looking leather case that would be also slick at sliding out of your hand (or pocket). The rubber grips on the Speck makes it "sure-footed" and also gives some shock-resistance if it does accidentally slip and fall or bump something. While making a little thicker to pocket, the rough surface also resists falling out of a shirt pocket when you lean over or out of a purse or bag , unlike a slick surface case. It also sits well on a car console or dash and resists sliding when turning or braking. I would definitely recommend to others.Customer Review: Great case

I have owned a few different types of cases, and this one is by far my favorite. I've had it for about a three months now. It takes two seconds to slip on, and has never come off. I love the design, it's not bulky and leaves enough room open on the bottom that I have no trouble charging it or plugging it in in my car (which was a problem with my last case.) Coupled with a screen protector I never worry about anything happening to my iPod. I take to the beach everyday, to the skatepark (where I have fallen onto it multiple times) and it is still in perfect condition. Also, I have never had any problems with it attracting lint, which some of the reviews stated. Like I said, I take it everywhere, and it still looks brand new, but most importantly, so does my iPod.Customer Review: Excellent product

I purchased this case right after I got my ipod touch. In the 6 months I have had it, it has been a complete success. I have seen many other brands of cases my friends have for their itouchs, and none compare. Most of them either feel flimsy or don't fit very well, this case has neither of those problems. In fact, I dropped it today screen down on accident and there were no scratches or damage. It gives you a nice textured grip to hold onto, and all the buttons are easily accessible.
As a side note, I see that the case is now just over 6 dollars. It was over 16 when I purchased it, and well worth every penny at that price. Don't be fooled into buying a 30 dollar piece of junk from Best Buy, when amazon has the option right here for under 10.

The Amazon description says the black Speck PixelSkin Case fits the 2nd Gen iPod touch. I took a chance and ordered it for my 3rd Gen iPod touch anyway and I'm glad I did. This case fits the 3rd Gen just fine. It has a small molded-in pocket for the volume control that allows you to feel the volume control through the case. Same with the On-Off switch and the home button. There is a cut-out on the bottom of the case to allow the charging connector and the headphones to plug in perfectly.
Note that this case has no clear-plastic cover for the screen nor does it need one as the iPod screen is not easily scratched.
I'm very happy with this case and won't be reluctant to take my iPod along in the car now that it's protected.

I have been using this speck rubberized case on my iPod touch 2G for over a year. It is outstanding. It has protected against damage from a couple of fumbles. The fit is excellent and clicking the buttons is never a problem. It has held up extremely well (it's almost as good as new), the material improves hand held grip and helps it grip surfaces, so it is unlikely to slide off of things. I coupled this with an elago anti-smudge screen protector and the pair of items has kept my iPod in near-perfect shape after all this time. Another speck product I already owned actually lead me to purchase this one, I am very pleased with their products.
If you are looking for rubber armor to provide outstanding protection for your iPod touch, look no further.
