In my opinion, Speck makes the best iPod cases out there. You can certainly buy thicker cases which protect the whole iPod, but those tend to look like, and be the size of, a small purse. I have owned several cases but never found one that was just right, until the PixelSkin.
I use this on my iPod 3G.
This case is superior for ease of use. It is slim, but thick enough to offer good protection, and the texture of the skin makes it very easy to hold. It can be placed on a surface and maintains great friction so it won't go sliding off, yet it is sleek enough to slide in and out of your pants pocket. The rubber texture is just the right mix of hard and soft. It is firm enough to protect your iPod, but not too hard too use or be comfortable in your hand or pocket, and the material does not pick up fuzz or gunk, as do some silicone/gel cases.
The Pixelskin allows easy access to all iPod controls and functionality.
It does not cover nor protect the screen, other than it covers the edge of the front so in a complete face down fall, the screen might "fall well" and not come into contact with a hard surface.
I've owned this case for a year or so and it has retained its form and it has not worn down at all. I think it is a great product and a fantastic value.

The Speck case is the perfect companion for the 2nd generation iPod Touch.
Here are the pros as I see them:
- It protects the Touch from scratches and damage
- It keeps you from having to polish off dirty finger prints on the mirror-like surface of the Touch
- It improves grip and feel
- It allows you to set the Touch on your desk, table, dashboard, etc. without fearing that it will easily slide off
- It is very easy to put on and take off... I'm talking around 5 seconds. This process does not stretch or deform the Spec case or put any stress on the Touch. This was important for me because I plan on taking it out of the case on a semi-frequent basis to put in the Apple docking station
- It allows for full functionality using the buttons, adapter and headphone plugins.
There are a couple of minor cons:
- It seems a little expensive for a piece of rubber (but trust me, well worth it)
- It needs to be removed to fit in the Apple universal iPod docking station, where I use it with a remote. As noted above, this process is quick and easy.
Buy this for your iPod Touch... you'll love it!

This rubberized case isn't very exciting. You give it a little stretch, pop your iPod Touch inside, and you're done. What does it do? It protects the iPod Touch from scratches (back side), makes me feel more comfortable while carrying the Touch in my pocket, and gives me a secure feeling while holding/using the iPod Touch. Mine is black and looks/feels good in my hand, and the Touch's screen and necessary control buttons and ports are completely accessible inside this rubberized case. It does what it's supposed to do and looks pretty good at the same time. Buy it!
Get the iKross 3-Pack Premium Reusable LCD Screen Protector with Lint Cleaning Cloth for iPod touch (Clear) to go with the case. This product protects the iPod Touch screen from scratches. Now, I don't worry about "touching" the Touch with my grubby hands because I'm not touching the actual screen, but the Screen Protector instead. Great idea. Thanks to Amazon's "buy all three" suggestion I got the rubberized case and the screen protectors for the $20 I saved by buying the iPod Touch on Amazon instead of [...] where I usually would buy an Apple product. Go Amazon!
Customer Review: This Is The Way The Touch Was Supposed To Be!

I really love the 2G Touch, but it seemed to be missing something. Well after buying this Speck product I quickly realized it was the whole feel of the grimy, sticky, icky, slippery, & dangerous feeling of the way the 2G Touch originally comes from Apple.
This product completely changes the whole look & feel to the 2G Touch no doubt about it! Also, the sharp cookie cutter volume & Sleep buttons on the Touch (although badly needed) was a bad design but this Speck PixelSkin really solves & covers that little issue nicely.
No issues with the Speck Covering the Wi-Fi spot on the back at all. Also, the pic that Amazon gives for this product doesn't do it justice. The picture from Speck's Website shows it in a bit better light. The lighting on the Amazon site pic for this product, shows more of a plastic look. This is not plastic, it's a nice thick rubber.
Get this item if you don't want to panic every time you pick up the Touch & possibly watch $400 go down on the ground.
Get this item if you want something that doesn't look like it's for a old man or a Girl & yet protects.

I love the elegant, sleek look of the iPod touch 2G but the case is slippery and I was so afraid of dropping it and breaking the glass screen. This case definitely gives it a better grip and protects the corners and edges. I still wouldn't want to drop it, but it's less likely to happen with this case. Unlike iPod cases I've had in the past for my older iPod, this one is easy to put on and take off, but not so easy that it would come off on it's own. The case is sturdy, not flimsy like some that you see in the stores. I still had to purchase a protector for the screen iKross 3-Pack Premium Reusable LCD Screen Protector with Lint Cleaning Cloth for iPod touch (Clear) and this works well with the Speck PixelSkin.
I've posted some photos with a few different views on the first page. Two thumbs up for this case! I just ordered another one for my husband.
2/20/09 - I ordered a third one for my sister a couple weeks ago. These things are really great, a nice solid quality skin for the iPod.
