Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Speck PixelSkin Rubberized Case for iPod touch 2G, 3G (Black)

Customer Review: The best silicon that I've been able to find.
Summary: 5 Stars

I've been searching for an iPod Touch 2G case for a very long time and even after finding this product I was skeptical about it. However, skeptical is something that I am no longer. There are reviews saying this is hard rubber and that's just not true. The iPod slides in like a breeze, it's soft to the touch and flexible. The home, volume and sleep buttons can all be very easily accessed. I'm talking no trouble at all. It increases the grip substancially and it's not all that bulky. There is also no problems with charging it or plugging in head phones.

Now the cons. The does impede the speaker a little bit. It's harder to hear music or video, etc. The grip is increwed substancially, but there are things they could've done in that department. Someone mentioned perforating the pixels on it. Lastly, it is thicker than the other silicon cases I've looked at and while I do feel my iPod is safer in this than all of those, it still feels like there could be more protection. Although that could be just becuase they case adds virtually no weight to it.

Anywho, I gave this 5 stars because, although it's not perfect, it is the best silicon case that I've seen. It fits better than bulky hard shell cases, it looks better than the cheap silicon products and the hard shell cases and it still protects enough for me to not constantly worry about it's safetly. I would highly suggest buying this product because you won't find another silicon case out there as good as this one.

Customer Review: Near perfect design for a case
Summary: 5 Stars

The only downside I have found to the iPod Touch is its lack of included case. I did a lot of research into what case to buy for it at an affordable price. For the money, this case is far and away the best product to protect your investment.

A lot of cases simply attach by snapping onto your iPod or clutching the outer edges. I have found these cases come off easily, especially when sliding into and out of pockets. The Speck case does clutch at three of the outer edges, but on the bottom (by the home button) the case covers the entire bottom black area. This means there is nearly zero chance the case will come off. In addition, the edges on the front of the case are raised so that you can place the iPod face down without any worry of the screen getting scratched. A finer point, but a definite plus.

The case has a nice design, with a solid rubber feel and back design that makes it easier to hold on to. There is a definite bulk that is added to the iPod by the case, but the iPod itself is so slim and light that this is not a negative at all: in fact, I find the case makes the product seem more solid overall.

My only complaints: no screen protector (but it's a case, not a package), slightly more difficult to find the volume and sleep buttons (though they are still easy to press), and picks up lint fairly easily.

Overall, fantastic and cheap product for what it is: a solid rubber case for your iPod touch.

Customer Review: Adds Superior Protection from Accidents
Summary: 5 Stars

I take the time to write this because I think this protector is exactly perfect. People often ask where I got it from.,,
Here is what it best about it:-

[1] It is THICK. Who ever wants to drop their phone or touch (I use it on both), but if you do, this is thick enough to cushion the shock. Unfortunately it's been put to the text several times sans issue.
[2] It's not made of cheap plastic; it's a very nice rubber. It fits snugly and doesn't stretch over time and become loose.
[3] This cover's edges extend over and cover the outer edges of the face protector sheet, so it does form a complete protection. This, together with the tightness, mean that you don't have little bits getting under the cover. The item inside really stays mint.
[4] Design is nice - well, I like it. It's nice to hold.
[5] It grips the surface when you set it down. Handsfree in the car means not holding the phone at all if you are using the speaker. I set this down with no issue if I must talk if, for example, caught in traffic.
[6] Easy to clean, and keep clean.
[7] Price - the company isn't trying to take advantage. Just over $10 for a well-made product seems v reasonable -- especially when other companies try to charge $25+ for a piece of molded plastic.

Who knew there was so much to say about a little cover? It just shows that if you find a niche and do it right, it can be really appreciated.

Customer Review: I love this case
Summary: 5 Stars

When I first saw this case online I wasn't too crazy about the way it looked but ordered it anyway because it seemed like it would provide good protection for my iPod. After recieving it and seeing it in person I love everything about it, even the way it looks. It looks way less bulky in person (to me anyway) than it does online. I love the fact that the home button, volume rockers, and hold button are all covered. It is easy to put on and provides good grip for when I'm holding my iPod so I don't worry about dropping it. It actually makes it easier to use the iPod for me because I don't have to try to be extra careful that I don't scratch up the back with my nails when I'm gripping it. It also adds a little thickness to the iPod so it's easier to hold which helps since I play games on my iPod a lot (like Tap Tap Revenge). The bottom where the headphones and USB cord are plugged in is the only part that is not covered, but this makes it easy to plug these in because I don't have to take off the whole case. Some people complain about it picking up lint and it does, and this is usually the case with silicone cases, but it isn't a problem for me because it's easy to blow off. The case is a harder silicone than a case I used for my old click wheel iPod so it's easier to get rid of the lint. This is the first case I've ever used on my iPod so I can't really compare to others but I would buy another if I ever need it. I'm very happy with it.

Customer Review: Awesome Case - Perfect for most iPod owners
Summary: 5 Stars

This case does everything it should. For those of you who have tried the belt clips etc, you know they are just putting your iPod out there to get the crap knocked out of it when you brush up against something. This case lets you put it in your pocket (though it is not very comfortable) or carry it in your hand. I think this works so much better than the belt clip cases.

Also, if you are a runner or walker, this case has grips that are perfect for holding it while running. If you use the Nike+ feature on your Touch, then I highly recommend this case. The arm band cases are not very useful when you are trying to see your progress or switch to your Powersong. This Speck gives you the confidence that if somehow you dropped it, it would not be demolished. And at the same time, it gives you access to the awesome Nike + features.

One other thing I love about it is that there is no interference when you use the sleep and volume buttons on your Touch. It is almost as simple as when you don't have it in a case.

One thing I wish they would include with this case though is some screen protectors. I had to buy them separately.

I bought this case because of all of the great reviews. Once I got it, I knew I had to join the others in letting you know that it is indeed as good as reviewed.
