I used to own a tablet PC, and found that primarily what I wanted was a device that let me get hand-written notes into my computer in a fashion easier than scanning. It seemed silly to carry around a [...]+ device for that. This device does that, and it does it inexpensively. You can convert the pages to PDF for standard storage (download from their site).
My only complaint would be that this version uses A5 tablets which are hard to find in the U.S. Go for the larger tablet if you live there.
If you want hand-written notes to be easily storable and sharable (in their handwritten form), then this is a great choice. Handwriting/diagram recognition is crap on all devices...so don't expect this one to be much better. I haven't bothered playing with the software much at all.

ACECAD DigiMemo DM-692 Digital Notepad DM-692 715The DigiMemo 692 is a digital notepad with storage capability to digitally capture and store everything you write or draw with ink on ordinary paper, without the use of a computer or special paper. You can easily view, edit, and organize your notes on a PC and then share your handwritten notes over email. Simply place any ordinary paper or notepad on the digital pad. When you write on the paper with the digital inking pen, the digital pad digitally records your writing on its 32 MB built-in storage device or in an optional CF card in real time. The notepad can store up to 999 handwritten pages in its internal memory. Each page you create is stored as one digital page. With the included DigiMemo Manager software, you can easily view, edit, and organize your digital pages later on a PC. Files can be saved as BMP, JPG, GIF, or PNG files, and then easily copied or moved to other program files such as an Outlook email message, or even a Word or Excel file. Weighing only 1.24 pounds, the notepad runs on four AAA batteries for a battery life of up to 100 hours. The battery of the digital inking pen can last up to 14 months.
