This is a great product. I don't need to sing its praises, because, frankly, everyone does and they are right. It's easy, as long as you understand ports and firewalls. If you know your network, you'll be fine. Don't let that sway you though. If you don't understand these things, it will take you maybe an hour to set it up rather than the 20 mins. that some claim to achieve. It is worth it either way.
I've never owned a previous model but I'm glad I got this. I'd rather have a pass through than splitters any day.
Again, thank you for no monthly fees, not over complicating the thing...I mean really: Thank you.
Now to try it on my Treo!

This thing works great! My nephew let me know about his box and I finally got one. I grew up on Long Island and have still been following NY sports since I went to college in 1979. This slingbox allows me to watch local cable channels from Long Island any time I want. I don't, for example, have to rely on the Philadelphia-area cable channels to show the Giants on Sunday- I can watch every game this year no matter who they are playing. The video is certainly acceptable and it is great to hear the local announcers again. I would recommend this to any sports fans who still root for their hometown teams even though they have moved to another area of the country.Customer Review: great product; simple to get running

I received my slingsolo two days ago and fooled around with a linksys WGA600n to connect to home router. About 4 long, frustrating telephone tech calls later and with no sustained success in getting the sling up & running, I boxed up the WGA & ordered the sling turbo 1-port connector (next day delivery). UPS & turbo arrived about an hour ago. The system was connected, setup and fully operational in about 15 minutes. It works flawlessly and I only regret wasting yesterday with the linksys device that didn't work for me (may be a reliable device for others). I have tested reception via MAC lap in a 3 level house with many circuits and don't get problems.Customer Review: My Slingbox is fantastic!

I had heard about the Slingbox several years ago but never purchased one. We go back and forth between homes in Florida and Colorado. Being a fan of the Dolphins, Marlins and Heat, when I was in CO, I was missing a lot of games. If I wanted to see a Dolphins game, I had to go to a sports bar to watch in a crowd (with no sound). Now, I watch them in the comfort of my home, and don't have to pay $4 for a beer, and buy lunch. I figure I'll pay for it in about six games. I have it hooked through my laptop to my wide-screen TV; granted, the picture isn't as good as a normal hi-def one, but it is completely satisfactory to enjoy a game. I love it!

We have a vacation home in Canada and I have always been on the horns of a video dilemma. I leave my perfectly good cable connection back home for two months and have to buy sat tv up in my cottage in Canada. Now, I have all my home channels up in Canada. Very cool! The reception is a bit low res but not bad for CNN, the Daily Show, etc. I have wireless internet up here and Verizon FIOS back in the states. It really works. I was worried that it might not work before I actually got up here and tested it out, but it really does work. It's like watching TV on some kind of new fangled invention. Whoop-dee-doo. All hail Slingbox.
