I bought my Slingbox just so I could watch TV while overseas (I make about 6 trips per year). I could have gotten by with a lesser model, but I figured I might want to hook up more to it some day.
Set up was just a few minutes. It worked perfect from home right from the start. But when I tried it remotely on my laptop, it didn't. It seems it had to be configured for my router. I had thought that happened automatically when I initially set it up. Manual configuration took only 10 minutes. Now it works great from anywhere in the world.
Highly recommended!!

The Slingbox Pro does a great job of streaming video from multiple sources (cable, boxes, Tivo's, or satellite dishes) to any internet-connected computer. It's an easy, fun way to watch television on your computer and the image quality is excellent. If you have access to a fast internet, "Fiber" connection, you'll be amazed at the quality of the picture and the sound.
In the set-up area, it took very little time and it worked perfectly from the get-go. Note: I installed it on my two laptops and had no problems, but it only works on one computer at a time.

I just bought the Slingbox Pro and installed it. This is the first Slingbox device I have purchased or used. Setup was very easy and this thing was running great in no time flat. I used the Slingbox brand outlet router thingies. They work great as well and were easy to setup. I even downloaded the slingbox mobile player for my wifes Motorola Q and she can now view our tv from her mobile phone! We have it connected to our DVR unit and now she can view her saved showed whenever and wherever she wants. She travels a lot for work so this makes her very happy! I bought my Slingbox Pro back in February and have been loving it ever since. It's an easy, fun way to watch television on your computer and the image quality is excellent. I also bought the HD connector which is bundled with high-quality component cables. Watching HD content on my PC monitor is too cool.
Despite the price I recommend the Slingbox Pro. Recently Echostar announced they were purchasing Sling and AT&T will, in turn, be buying Echostar. I don't think this means the end of the Slingbox; it's too popular and useful a product.

Just received from Amazon and the setup was easy, software downloaded from site and I was up and running. I have an HD 1920x1080 laptop display and the quality is surprisingly good even at full screen and thru wireless G.
My internet test had some dropout but sure will make a difference when I travel- rather than the crappy motel TV. I only used the composite outputs from my cable box.. I am anxious to see if there is a difference when I hook up component connections... there shouldn't be but we will see.
