My Slingbox is great. Does everything I want it to but I almost got the wrong one. I thought that AV model would be enough for me but it turned out that the PRO was really what i was looking for.
There's an "uncensored" guide posted that details all the features of the 3 models in a way that made it easy for me to figure out which one I needed. It's unbiased. Kind of like reading a wikipedia entry.
It also listed all the Slingbox "gotchas". None of them was a deal-breaker for me, but I was glad to know.

Just recieved my Slingbox PRO last night and got it all set up in about an hour. Video quality is really remarkable and adjusts well to varying connection speed. A bit tricky to set up the remote viewing (so you can watch from computers connected outside your LAN) because my router has heavy security settings, but after about 1/2 hour of playing with my port forwarding settings it worked great from my neighbor's connection.
Also, I primariy use it on my Macbook with OS X and the Slingplayer Mac version works just great. Highly reccomend it for any TV junkie or for use with remote security cameras.

My boyfriend is on 100% travel and purchased the slingbox to keep at my house so he could keep up with his shows on tivo and watch East coast football games when he is working in CA. It works amazing! He is considering buying another one just to hook up to a 400 disc DVD changer so his whole DVD library will be available no matter where he is in the world. Additionally, when he is gone we can also do dorked out things like watch Heroes together, me at home, him on his computer, that are actually really nice when you can't be with someone. Great picture, no lag time and super easy set up. Highly recommended.Customer Review: You HAVE to get one of these

I bought this for one reason. I had to go to New Zealand on business and was going to miss the Sopranos finale. The set up was as easy as can be. I used an Apple Airport Express as my wireless link (which isn't even documented in the Slingbox Docs, they want you to buy THEIR wireless link) set it up and it worked perfectly. When I got to NZ, the first thing I did was test it, and amazingly, my TiVo popped right up on the screen. All the people that were with me were amazed that we were watching and controlling MY TiVo from 10,000 miles away. Now my wife is hooked on it, she watches from work on her laptop.Customer Review: Sling Box-Excellent

Great product for road warriors. Easy to set up, although settings for router were confusing in manual. Settings are there, but not were you expect to find them. Tech Support was great and did set up remotely.
Need data upload of over 300 kps for good quality or chance of locking up device from command input overload. If somebody is at home they can reset Sling Box.
If there is a chance your DVR DPI setting can be changed get the HD adapter, since you cannot re-select 480 dpi remotely. The adapter will still allow video streaming no matter what setting DVR is in.
