Got this unit for my partner and we were both blown away by how the technology worked. We travel a lot so being able to access our local programming from wherever we are is great! We can watch it on our iPhones, ipads or on any PC we can access! The most amazing part is that you are actually controlling your tv using a graphic representation of your own cable providers remote. It looks and behaves exactly like your remote at home. You can access programs you saved on your DVR, set up recordings while your away. Plus lots more. Very cool!Customer Review: Slingbox PRO-HD

Hey, if your wondering if this thing really works or not with the quality Slingbox says it can deliver, STOP thinking about it! It's just as advertised. It took me all of 5 minutes to set it up and I was amazed that everything was in the box, that it connected easly, was simple to use and delivered quality audio and video. My wife goes to bed before I do so I just get my laptop, plug in my headphones and watch TV without having to get up to change channels or annoy anyone else in the house, not to mention using it while I'm on the road.Customer Review: It works

We have a cable box and a blu-ray player. Both were very easy to set up and work flawlessly. Inside the network, the quality is extraordinary. Our internet is very slow in its upload, therefore, quality is compromised. Never the less, it works very, very well. To my surprise, I have been able to see my tv on the train and on a car using my android phone. It is a great product that works. It is not cheap. As an Ipod Touch User:
The older version worked, but a little more difficult to get great streaming video. The newer version connects much easier than the old and
provides a sharper Video image than the older model.
Is the change necessary? Maybe not, but if you try to achieve the best
results, you will love the newest model. I think it would be a great
feature for the future if they had multiple HDMI connectors rather than just 1 component video (3 Wire), 1 S connector, and one RCA plug in sets.

I use the slingbox so that I can watch my home town NFL team. I set up the sling at a family member's house. The nice thing is that the sling pro has its own tuner. Thus, I just plug the cable directly into it- I don't have to use a cable box.
TIP
Even though I have the sling connected to cable, I selected the input as an antenna. This allows me to get a free over the air HD signal instead of the SD signal that comes with the cable company. I guess the cable works as an antenna too?
