The Sling Media Slingbox Pro-HD is great. It is best on your home network, but I have found that with the support of HD streaming that its widescreen streaming out of network is much improved. I owned the original slingbox. I always loved it. I have found that viewing with my connection outside of my home network that it is essentially like watching a DVD with this product. The quality is pretty high. If you have a widescreen laptop this product is the ultimate partner for it. It is a big improvement over the original slingbox. I imagine that it will only get better with software updates.
I don't have very much in terms of negative things to say because most of the issues are caused by poor network connectivity.

I heard about Slingbox from a friend and decided to give it a try. We have 2 DirectTv HD DVR recorders synced together and have the slingbox hooked to a 3rd DirectTv HD receiver so it has access to both DVR's. We have used both the Droid app on my HTC and the PC desktop apps and both work great if you have a decent connection. My wife babysits for some friends everyday (they have wireless, but no TV) and uses the slingbox app from her laptop to watch shows when the baby is napping and loves it. The setup was easy and the instructions were clear and easy to follow. If you travel (I am on the road quite a bit) or have a need like my wife has where she babysits, it is worth the investment.Customer Review: Nice, ALL NFL and more

I've been using my old computer to watch football games while I travel and I travel a lot. I was using NFL Sunday ticket with Supercast. I've improved my ability to watch all the game at a cheaper cost. What do I have now?

Now I can watch all of my Steelers games and any movie channels, news channels or other sports channels at no additional cost. It's easy to set up but I suggest that you have an additional dedicated converter box. My kids watch the TV in my man cave when I'm not home.

This is my second Slingbox, I previously had a Pro with the HDConnect module. I wanted the ability to attach to a second tuner on the set-top box, and the ATSC tuner. Piece of cake to set up, works great on my iPhone, iPad, and wired and wireless computers. I can only stream to one device right now, but I'm working on that.
You can get the Slingbox Pro on their website, as an "upgrade" for $50 off, free shipping, which makes the price $249. I don't know how long this offer will continue, probably through the holidays. And you don't have to send in your old one, you keep it. [...]

I had the 'Sony Location Free' device at first, never worked. I got this 'Slingbox Pro HD' and it worked right out of the box. Had it up and running in ten minutes. Took my PC out of town and accessed the device with no problems. I was able to change channels easly, set up my DVR to record a future movie form my PC easly. The remote on the screen works just like the one at home. I have my home DVD player (second devise) hooked up and running too. I work out of town a lot and this really is like sitting in my own home with my home TV channels. You got to get one !!
