Setup was smooth and easy. However, I recommend contacting Tech Support to help optimize your setup for better performance. Not a requirement, but very helpful in my case [firewall, DHCP, etc]
I bought the Slingbox AV model to connect my DVR to the internet to watch and record TV at home in FL while I am working in the UK. The setup was smooth, although I did contact Tech Support for help in optimizing my setup. Tech Support was very responsive. [Thx, Becks]
Would highly recommend this unit to anyone looking to remotely connect to an existing unit.

I am a computer/IT professional. This is the coolest thing I've ever seen. Cable TV on my patio.. my neighbor's patio... My kitchen. It rocks!
Took a whole seven minutes to install and configure. News, weather, movies, network programs... At MY command! Anywhere!
Internet setup not explained well in user guide. If you are E-challenged you may need help.
The fact that you can do it wi-fi anywhere in range is worth the buy.
Picture quality is great with several format options. Nice interface controls and looks a lot like my TV remote!

I've never had a product that was this easy to install, and get it right the first time. The software even automatically configured port-forwarding for my Netgear Wireless Router. The mobile software (which is extra) is amazing, the optimizing feature always gets the best possible picture. I also like that I can customize the encoding, or just listen to the audio, which is great while working at the computer. If you're a TV adict or just like the convenience of being able to keep up with news and TV on the go, this is virtually flawless solution. Highly recommend.Customer Review: Exceeds Expectations

Bought this so my stepson, a college student, could watch TV downstate without having to pay cable fees. Works nicely. We tested and used it while in Las Vegas and the box was in Maine -- no problem. It took calling the company to get it set up properly. They were cordial, efficient and effective. Had it running after 10 minutes online with the service tech. Kind of wish I had bought the one that allows more than one user at a time. Be sure you are getting the one that you want relative to the number of people who can watch at a given time.Customer Review: Slingbox-Unbelievable that it is not taking the market by STORM!

My son moved to a small town in the UK. He asked me to get a Slingbox and connect it to my TV for him to watch sports, Saturday Night Live, and local news while he is over there for three years. I purchased the product, hooked it up and also, since I travel a lot myself, set up my computer to work with Slingbox as well. Fantastic! He loves it, his wife loves it, and I have found it to be a very useful addition to my computer when I travel as well. For a $100 item, it is truly amazing and simple to hook up and use worldwide!
