I'm a gadget guy, and this is the most incredible item I've purchased in years! Absolutely seamless install, their website even had specific instructions for my router!
The installation is quick, easy. No surprises. The video is as smooth as watching a real TV. If you go into full screen mode, you may see some degredation of picture quality.
I downloaded and installed the program for my PDA and it works just as well. Even at work, through our corporate network the image is as good as on the LAN at home. Same for wireless.
The only problem I had was that the receiver I am using for the Slingbox was set to use a remote control that had a device address other than #1 (DishNetwork DVR). At first the remote control in SlingPlayer would not control the receiver. As soon as I changed the device code for the IR remote to #1, everything worked fine.
My advice: Buy this unit. You won't be sorry.

I have had my Slingbox for 4 days and I can already say I love it! I had it hooked up and running in less than 10 minutes. The picture (using my wireless internet connection at home) is very clear. There is a few seconds delay from the original source. I have the Slingbox hooked up to our Tivo box. This allows us to not only watch regular TV, but also any taped programs on the Tivo. I can even program Tivo to record/delete programs using the Slingbox. In addition, I have already tested the ability to use Slingbox outside the house. Using my Treo 700p phone as a modem/internet connection, I was able to use Slingbox during a recent car trip we took. The Slingbox passed the test with flying colors. Although the picture is not as clear as when we are at home, it is pretty good. No need to rent numerous DVDs for our road trips anymore. Overall, I am very pleased with the Slingbox I purchased. I got this as a present from my employer at Christmas and this thing is amazing.
I am a Mac user and have a DVR from my Cable provider. I got the Slingbox along with the Slinglink and within 10 minutes I was up and running. I have traveled across the US and out of the country on 2 occasions and not had to miss one show or event that I wanted to see.
I would highly recommend. I hate to hear that a few people have had setup issues but I don't even know how that is possible. I even got my PS3 working on my network through the Slinglink and it is moving much faster than it did over my WiFi connection.
Thanks Slink Media for providing a fabulous product with no subscription. By the way... I will be buying these as gifts for some friends and family.

I bought this for myself for Christmas and I am totally delighted with this product. Set up is a breeze, even using a Gaming Adapter to connect, it was simple plug and play. No need to buy the expensive 'SlingLink'. I had to contact customer service to set up my remote connection, so that I can access the Slingbox away from home. The Tech simply took over my computer for 10 minutes and I was connected remotely with no worries.
Their Customer Service is the best I have dealt with, JD Power should be sending awards in their direction.
Most of all I was blown away by the picture and audio, I was expecting 'streaming' quality, but was very pleased to find the actual quality to be as good as actually watching the live TV feed.
Get one now, you won't regret it !

I was skeptical that this would work as advertised. What a pleasant surprise! It is nothing short of amazing! Easy to set up, easy to use. The picture quality is excellent! I had no issue with my router or firewall. I have used it on my home network and from a remote location on my laptop. At the remote location it worked as if I was in my living room. How cool is that? I had an extra cable box that was hooked up to a basement TV. I followed the quick setup instructions and it was working in 30 minutes. There is no capture function or DVR functions, unless you have that type of cable equipment connected to the Slingbox. The AV unit only allows one connected device. There is a pro model which controls several devices. For $109 this can't be beat.
