Customer Review: Excellent, But I Prefer These Other Skullcandy Earbuds

At a certain point, personal taste overrides other product performance issues. I have these Smokin' Buds which I thought would be better than the cheaper Ink'd edition from Skullcandy:

I thought they would be better because (LOL) the copy editors from Skullcandy made them sound better, and they cost more.
But guess what?
Skullcandy Ink'd remain my favorites. And I DO have a couple of mid-end earbuds too, Skullcandy just offers incredible value with the Ink'd.
In terms of sound quality, the Smokin' Buds seem a lot like my Griffin Ear Thumps - more bass, but slightly muffled mid range. The Ink'd are "clearer" to my ears.

Most people are rating these things down because they have they tendency to fall out with sudden movement. Maybe they do fall out on occasion but any earbud like these will, and it isn't a huge problem. When people rate these down they are assuming that they were supposed to get a really great set of headphones and there not considering the price. Your rating should consider the price you spend.
At 9.99 (when I bought them) plus free shipping from amazon prime these are a steal, the sound quality isn't superb but its surely better than the stock headphones and it has fairly good bass response.
They come with three sizes to suit your personal ear, and it comes with a little clothe bag for carrying. Overall I can't complain, this is a great Christmas gift for practically nothing.

I purchased these earbuds after having owned shure 115s, Bose in ear, Altec backbeat pro 606s, and Bose QC2 over ear headphones. I can honestly say that the sound of these headphones is better than the sures and Altecs and on par with the Bose in ears. For the price they are an exceptional value. The bass is deep and the highs are clear at the same time, there is little to no muddying of the highs with bass heavy music. These isolate most of the external noise from the listener, however cord noise is present if you move the cord around while listening. Great deal.Customer Review: Muffeled at low volumes

I was very excited to get these seeing i have only used dollar store types before and to be completely honest, i was a little dissapointed. The overall constuction is very good, and i read from another reviewer how he used the volume control to mute his music when being spoken too. The olny thing i did notice is that at low volumes the music tends to me alittle muted. Ganted, i am no audiophile but, i have ben useing them, oh, one good point, is by far the most comertable i have ever used. Maybe explore there other offerings.Customer Review: Good Stuff

I bought these after being unhappy with a different vendors product and thought they were the best sounding ear buds I had ever bought. I love how comfortable they are in my ears. I did not have any trouble with them falling out and recommended them to my wife as well. If your looking for great sound at a reasonable price these are the best I have found.
