Customer Review: Purchased in Feb 2010 and not working in Sept 2010 Summary: 1 Stars
Good sound quality - Yes. Comfortable in the ear - Yes. Well built - Heck NO!!! I purchased these from Amazon in February 2010. I purchased them to replace another pair of SkullCandy earbuds that stopped working on me. The first thing I did when the earbuds arrived is visit the Skull Candy website in order to register the product and thus take advantage of any warranties. Guess what, there are NOT any warranties and there is no place on the website to register one's product. I guess the manufacturers know that their products are not reliable. I used these earbuds with my Ipod at the gym and with my cell phone on walking errands. When at the gym I use the cardio equipment and set my Ipod on the equipment in such a way that the only part of the earbuds that get wet with sweat are the actual buds that go in my ear. I also wrap the cord in such a way that the jack that gets plugged into my IPod is not jangling the entire time I am exercising. Even with these precautions the right earbud failed on me. The failure is in the jack which has to be jingled and held a certain way in order for sound to come out of both earbuds. The cord is not open or frayed anywhere. The failure is somewhere inside the jack. I've tried my back up headphones in both my IPod and my phone and the backup headphones work fine so I know the damage is not in the jack receptor of the IPod or mobile. It is in the jack of the earbuds. This product did not even function properly for a year. Skullcandy kind of advertises its products as being for active young males, skateboard punks and what-have-you. I can assure you that the amount of time I spend at the gym and the amount of jangling to which the earbuds are subjected while in my ears is a lot less taxing on my than what would be inflicted on these earbuds by a teenage boy. If these earbuds can't even a last a year under my use, then they must indeed be crap. I'll fork out the dough and go with Sony MDREX36V/PNK EX Earbud Headphone (Pink).
Customer Review: cheap and plasticky! Summary: 1 Stars
I bought a skullcandy at Ross for $8 and thought since I was paying more for these it would be better quality. The ones from Ross is made of metal buds these are all plastic construction and like previous reviewers state it does not stay in your ear. The ones from Ross are sound proof while these are not. Save you money and buy something else.
Customer Review: DO NOT BUY Summary: 1 Stars
Apparently Skullcandy puts design and how the earphones look first, quality later. Like everyone else said these broke within a week. The right earbud started losing sound and within 3 weeks there was nothing coming out of it, and the left one started fading too. USELESS.
