I knew nothing about the satellite radios and how they connected up to a speaker. I didn't want to use our home stereo but required one we could move from room to room or even take on a trip. So we needed a speaker system of some sort to play the radio (which I also purchased from Amazon). I do admit I went to a store and tried out the two together. I wanted to make sure it had at least decent sound quality. I am not super fussy but wanted it to be at least adequate. I found this boombox to be more than adequate at least for us. The price is extremely reasonable for the price. So easy to set up! I bought from Amazon because they had a better price than the store did. I recommend this boombox and also the seller.
