For whatever reason the audio in my shure se110 earphones would give out on one earbud and then the other and I realized that my cable was faulty so I bought this extension to replace it. Within a few months I had the same issue again. Ever since they went to this model of two cables I haven't been too happy with the Shure earbuds. Then again the EC2 had a cracking issue with the casing that they have verified as a flaw in their design. I just recently bought myself a pair of etymotics and I couldn't be happier. If you don't want to throw your money down the toilet (figuratively), stay away from Shure headphones until they can come up with a more durable model. I went through at least 4 pairs in less than 2 years. I lost quite a bundle of money on them and am glad I finally went to another brand.
