Customer Review: Best for TV
Summary: 5 Stars

I've worn out one IR headset and three RF headsets since 1988 and these are the best by far for watching television. I can't address the issue of hiss mentioned by some reviewers because my high-frequency hearing is impaired, and I don't listen to very much music, but for hearing dialogue on television dramas, the RS 140 can't be beat. The headset is comfortable, the cups cancel most external noise, and the controls are easy to use. I had given up watching most tv dramas because I could not understand the dialogue over the soundtrack. No more! I now understand every word! My wife, whose acute hearing tests way above average, even asked me to translate some dialogue from CSI Miami! I gave her my headset and had to plead to get it back! Now I'm trying to find an extra headset. I had no difficulty setting up the transmitter and I found the controls easy to understand and use. The only negative comment I can offer is that the Engish translation of the German manual could be better.

Customer Review: Great Buy for the Quality
Summary: 5 Stars

I just purchased a new set of these wireless cans: Sennheiser RS 140. A great deal at $150 (Amazon) and beat the heck out of my cheap RCA WHP141's.

The sound quality is superb! Lightweight and comfortable.

Great range - 330+ ft. Radio not infrared. I went all the way to the dumpster with only minor cutouts. No cutouts inside a 1350 sq/ft apartment.

BTW - The product description states that these are for hi-fi and TV use, but they work well on a computer so long as it accomodates a stereo phone plug (usually standard with sound cards).

Unique features:

Left/right-ear balance control (just what I needed being half deaf in one ear)
Auto charger (nothing to plug in)
Auto tuning (finds the best channel)
Dynamic compression (reproduces soft passages louder and decreases loud sounds - you don't have to constantly adjust the volume:-)
Nagging wife and screaming kid canceling

Customer Review: Great sound, long lasting.
Summary: 5 Stars

Don't know about you - but I got sick of all my wired headphones. I literally had a whole 'graveyard' drawer dedicated to all my previous pairs, which, at one point or another (independent of being high-end or not), broke, one speaker always malfunctioning. I don't know if I was bereft or some special care everyone else must take of their precious headphones, but to me the wires designed for them were much too fragile and faulty - those, mind you, of any given brand.

So! Despite being skeptical, I bought my first pair of wireless ones, that I still use to this day. The tedium of the wire is no longer mine, as these have yet to of exhibited any fault of their own! The sound is clear and vivid (granted, getting too far away from the source or moving your head within some area of interference begets static). I absolutely love them and as all other pairs lasted no longer than a month or two, these have served me well for almost 2 years.

Customer Review: Worked Better than Expected!!!
Summary: 5 Stars

I'm always very thorough in my research of reviews from many sources. I've read about the "static", "sound quality", etc.. Let me put all of that to rest. This work great! I use it for the sole purpose of watching tv in bed wile my wife sleeps (and vice-versa) and trust me my wife is even more finicky when it comes to my "gadgets". My equipment consists of a Samsung LN52B630 52" 1080p LCD HDTV, AT&T Uverse DVR and WiFi Router b/g (2Wire). I can walk throughout my 3100 sq 2ty home and still get great reception. The headsets are a little heavy, but who cares when the ear piece is comfortable and you're engrossed in your show/movie. The charge lasts long. I've left it off the charger for three nights straight and no loss of energy. I would recommend it to anyone that wants to use them for use with a tv that wants to let their spouse sleep while the other watches tv. I haven't tried to use them on games or for music. Worth the purchase.

Customer Review: Shhhhh, baby's sleeping!

The Pros:

My wife and I bought this unit along with an extra headset so we could stop watching DVDs with the subtitles for fear of turning up the volume too loudly and waking up the baby. So far, so good. Sound is crystal clear, and we are able to pick up audio detail that we were missing before. The range is pretty solid as well.

The days of watching TV and every 5 minutes asking, "What did they say?" "Did you understand that?" are over!!

The Cons:
The extra headset does not come with a recharger base, so we have to charge one headset at a time (not a big deal, we don't anticipate running the battery out for either of these headsets).

These headphones are a bit pricey, but worth every penny. Sennheiser is a fantastic manufacturer of audio products.

We will probably be watching more TV/Movies now and will probably gain about 10 pounds.
