Customer Review: Finally found it!!
Summary: 5 Stars

I was looking primarily for the wireless phones with tolerable sound quality that can provide my midnight guitar practice through signal processor with greater freedom. With corded phones, I sometimes ended up breaking the phones (by standing up not realizing I am on leash) or the guitar (tangled by the cord...).

I've been researching for a long time. I tried Pioneer one (which I ended up keeping), XDream whatever, Amphony... If you are considering wireless cans for the same purpose, listen up. Infrared ones provide relatively good sound quality, but mostly suffer from "latency" or audio lag. With it present a little, you may be able to watch TV or listen to music, you never can play guitar through it. Amphony gave relatively good qualtiy and low-latency, even if it uses digital technology, involving signal sampling/conversions, which most likely results in audio latency. I used 2.4GHz version but couldn't stand the popping noise. The new 5.8GHz one might be better but kind of pricey.

Sennheiser RS140 is, in my opinion, a masterpiece in this regard. Cheap (considering quality) and absoluately no latency, due to analog transfer. I could even walk in the house, room-to-room, w/o interruption of audio (just a little "analog" noise, which is more tolerable than digital one). The sound quality is actually better than Pioneer's 5.1-capable phones, IMHO. I highly recommend this product to the ones having the same purpose as mine as well as to anyone looking for good-quality wireless phones.

Customer Review: Excellent headphones
Summary: 5 Stars

This is the first pair of wireless headphones I have purchased so I'm new to these type of products. But after going through years of wired sets I decided to give these a try over other brands. I was tired of the wires wearing out in my previous sets so I figured wireless would give me much more durability. So far I am satisfied. These sound just as good as a wired headset. There is the occassional hiss but it is not prevelant. As someone mentioned before, if you turn the audio source volume up enough you will not notice or even hear hiss. These headsets also briefly interfered with a baby monitor we were using but the problem seemed to go away after awhile. Plus you have a tuner on the base that can assist with interference. I stay in an apartment so I can't test the range much. I can say it worked flawless at nearly 200 feet and I had doors closed between me and the base. Another nice feature is that these headphones recharge while sitting on the base. It requires an RCA connection so it is convenient for attatching to TV's, Stereos, and DVD players. There is a 3.5mm to RCA converter included in the box as well so it's no problem hooking these to your PC or IPod. About the fit, it's fine with me even though your ears are completely covered. They are very large but not heavy. All in all, I recommend this product if you are looking for a closed cup design that is wireless and delivers good audio quality. I had reservations about spending so much on headphones, but these are worth it.

Customer Review: Had these about 4 months now
Summary: 5 Stars

The first nice thing I noticed is the very comfortable fit. I am usually unhappy with headphones, having a smallish head, but there is no slipping or constant adjustment needed. There also seems to be a good deal of room for adjustment so they may fit a larger headed person just fine. They are also light weight and do not give any of that squeezing or headbanded feeling that cam cause fatigue for long use.

I use these with my tv and for music so that I can avoid any disturbance to my near neighbors. I like preserving the quite of my neighborhood and being a good tenant. These allow me to listen to anything at any hour, with windows wide-open, without feeling intrusive to others. There should be no excuse for disturbing others with electronic noise with a product like this available!

They have a surprisingly long reach and it's nice to be able to go down the stairs to the laundry, or even out to the yard to pick up the mail without missing the dialogue of something I"m following.

There has been very little interference, which was my greatest worry about this purchase. Once in a while I have heard the annoying high pitched tone that seams to wreck other wireless reception, but I found it was just super close proximity to a fan I was running, and separated the receiver from the fan. Problem solved. They charge consistently and can be used many many hours straight (nearly all on one day and night). I'm happy I bought these!

Customer Review: My 84-year old mother says these have changed her life
Summary: 5 Stars

This review is targeted not at audiophiles, but rather at individuals who are suffering hearing loss, or who have friends/relatives who are suffering from hearing loss. My 84-year old mother was having real problems hearing her television. Even with a good external set of speakers plus hearing aides, she just couldn't hear the dialog on movies and TV shows. Wired headphones were not an option because of the tripping hazard created by the cord. She purchased three different cheap ($30-60) sets of wireless headphones, and gave up on all of them after a few weeks because of the poor sound quality. After reading lots of user and professional reviews of different headphones, I bought her a set of these Sennheiser RS 140s, together with a second headset. They were quite expensive compared to the models she had picked up before at RadioShack, but they have been worth every penny. She has called me countless times over the past month to say how clearly she can hear the dialog on her TV shows and movies. Even after months, she's downright excited about these headphones -- you'd think she was a celebrity endorser for Sennheiser. I really can't say enough good things about these headphones. I can't speak to how well they'll work for music buffs, but if you're looking for a set of headphones for a friend or relative who is having trouble hearing the TV, my 84-year young mother says these headphones rock.

Customer Review: Buy Two!
Summary: 5 Stars

Being of a certain age, I have some hearing loss. I find it especially difficult to follow dialogue of movies and TV dramas played through our TV's speaker. My wife Barbara is deaf in one ear and has the same problem. I bought the RS 140 and the HDR add-on headset. They work very well. The sound quality is excellent. They are comfortable to wear. And now we are enjoying our Netflix DVDs ever so much more. (Because the earpads seal so well, conversing is nearly impossible, and we occasionally miss phone calls.)

I also enjoy streaming audio from my computer, especially public radio news and talk programs and music from the online services of public radio stations (e.g., jazz from KUWL). So I found that I was regularly shifting the transmitter back and forth between the TV and the computer. I had hoped to be able to buy a transmitter separately, but I couldn't find a way to do that. So I bought another RS 140 set and now have an unnecessary headset. But it's worth the price to have the convenience. Now when I want to listen to talk or music I find it on the computer and listen anywhere in the house, including in the basement.

I bought my first RS 140 and add-on headset from Amazon. I bought the second RS 140 from J&R, which (as of mid November) had an excellent price and free shipping.
