Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Sennheiser RS 130 Wireless Surround Sound HeadphonesCustomer Review: Best wireless headphones yet Summary: 5 Stars
Sennheiser has a reputation for audiophile quality gear. These headphones don't disappoint. Though they are large, they are incredibly comfortable. Once they are on, you hardly notice them. The controls are easy use, and the sound is excellent. In fact, they are a bit surprising, because they pick up sounds in the sound track that I don't hear when I'm listening normally. For instance, in "Watchmen" there's a scene when a character is talking and there is a wall of TV screens behind him. I kept hearing this woman's voice and thinking that something else was playing in the room around me. In fact, it was the voice of a female broadcaster from the TV behind the main character! I took off the headphones and turned up the TV volume and couldn't hear her at all, then put the headphones back on and voila... there she is. This extra fidelity is a really pleasant surprise. That plus excellent battery life, easy to recharge and a comfortable fit, make these an excellent set of wireless headphones.
Customer Review: After 3 months of using Summary: 5 Stars
I waited to give a review till I had practical experience using them. The sound quality is very good as well as the comfort. I really like the ability of being able to control the volume at the headset unit. When I get about 30 feet away from the base unit through a few walls I get a bit of hiss which is tolerable.
The battery life is excellent and even with rechargeable batteries. I have never run out of power wearing them all day.
For me they have become an indispensible part of my computer use.
The Ultimate Test of My Experience
If I ever manage to destroy these I would immediately repurchase another unit. For me the high price is worth the benefit I get from this product.
A word of caution: I would say that the average user of headphones tends to listen at levels that are too loud. I'd start with a low volume level and turn up till the volume meets your listening needs. Just like diamonds, hearing damage is forever.
Customer Review: Works great Summary: 5 Stars
If you snagged the holiday pricing on this like I did then you made out like a bandit. Yes, Sennheiser is coming out with a newer and greater model to replace this, but so what! They sound amazing, the simulated surround sound is awesome, there's a bit of hiss here and there depending on your surroundings(I live in a small apt. with a lot of computers and equipment because I'm a giant nerd) but the only time I can hear it is in moments of absolute silence(in my case, the light hissing is less distracting then the general ambient noise in my apartment). They fit great, the controls are easy and the charging stand isn't that unattractive. My only negative is that the volume control is on the back of the headphone, so if I slouch on my couch and lean my head on a pillow the wrong way it can sometimes accidentally turn up or down the volume. One solution is to flip the red/black connectors on your receiver and sacrifice some comfort in order to be able to flip the headphones around.
Customer Review: Sennheiser RS 130, My Opinion Summary: 5 Stars
I have been using the Sennheiser RS130 for approximately one month. It was purchased to alleviate a bit of domestic discord over the volume at which I listened to our Plasma TV. In order to get most of what was said I had to increase the volume to where it was intolerable for my spouse. I was grasping at straws when I ordered these headphones because I was certain that they would give substandard sound due to the wireless transmission of audio which can be interfered with in a number of ways. I was wrong. These headphones not only allow me to hear at whatever volume I choose, they actually increase my ability to hear the TV to a point better than I could have heard at any volume with just the TV alone.I now frequently use the head phones in order to better hear a program's content even when volume is not and issue. The headphones are comfortable and controls are easily accessible while wearing them. I am entirely satisfied with them and am very impressed with their quality.
Customer Review: Sennheiser phones never disappoint. Summary: 5 Stars
These headphones are simply awesome. I own both the wired and the wireless Sennheiser models and each one sounds better than the other: great bass response and crisp sound with no static. As an audiophile and avid iPod user, I need my sound pure and uncompromising. This model is very comfortable to wear, and completely covers your ears, shutting out any noise and allowing you to indulge in the sound coming from the speakers. They are a bit expensive, but this is a good example of you get what you pay for. I'd rather pay the price now and enjoy my music for several years without worrying about the headphones.
After having tried models from all the big names, including Bose, Sony, Panasonic etc, I give the highest marks to Sennheiser. Even their cheaper models sound just as good as the pricier models, although they cheaper ones tend to be uncomfortable to wear for longer periods. If you really want to enjoy your music, get these or any other Sennheiser headphones.
