Customer Review: Great Wireless Head Set!
Summary: 5 Stars

To begin with I live in a very busy area in NYC and in my home I have a 3 system wireless computer network, 2 wireless phones, wireless PS2 controllers, wireless Xbox360 controllers, 3 cellular phones and now I have added 2 Sennheiser RS 130 headsets. You can imagine I was concerned with interference, popping and static especially after reading some of the reviews of the 130's on this site.

To be very honest it was anything but the case. Amongst all the wireless items in my house I get crystal clear sound with little to no problems. The signal strength on the head phones is phenomenal as I can even take the trash out and not miss a word from my TV shows. The sound quality is just as good as my wired headphones and the head phones all though large are very comfortable and after hours of wearing them I hardly notice there still on.

I have had the headsets for close to two months now and on the very rare occasion that I hear static all I do is hit the scan button and the problem is solved. The only technical issue I had with the headsets was during the initial setup. When using both headsets at the same time the set in my basement entertainment room was picking up some of the signal from the head set a floor above in my bedroom. This only occurred when I had the head sets on channel 1 and channel 2. To resolve this issue I set the basement set to channel 1 and the bedroom set to channel 3 and I have had no issues since.

My only other issue besides that is just as others stated with the poorly placed volume knob that occasionally gets moved when I shift my pillow in bed. It doesn't occur enough to put tape over the knob but if it did that would be my solution as it's a small inconvenience and doesn't justify not purchasing a great wireless headset.

Overall I love the headphones! They are a phenomenal buy and at around half the cost of the Best Buy price you can't go wrong buying them off Amazon. I never write reviews but ive been so happy with my two 130 headsets that I felt I needed to share so others could also join the wonderfull experience.

Customer Review: Great Purchase! Works wonderfully....
Summary: 5 Stars

I purchased the RS130 headset for a Christmas present for my husband. Not sure how receptive he would be so I rolled the dice. The gamble paid off...he loves them! I purchased the RS130 over the RS140 because I was not sure about the differences and for our use, it has certainly been a good choice. I believe the RS140 are considered a closed system where as the RS130 are open. He agrees, it's nice for him to still be able to hear me somewhat and wouldn't have needed the complete noise cancelling feature of the 140's.

As I read in many reviews, the main reason for me considering purchasing the headset was the volume my husband (48 years old)watches TV. If certain movies were on, he would literally run me out of the room and then become aggravated (humm...sound familar, ladies?). He is very particular with his electronics so again I simply took a chance.

Set up was easy and he allowed the headset to charge overnight as recommended which I couldn't believe! He mention the manual was virtually worthless so he simply used his own knowledge of electronics etc to connected through the cable box verses directly to the TV so that he can listen at "HIS" volume and me at mine. The first Sunday morning he had them, I rolled over in bed at nearly 10:30 am with the house completely quiet. Confused for a minute, only to walk in the family room to see him in his recliner watching the new Bruce Willis Diehard movie (another Christmas present) with a smile on his face! Unbelievable!

Our house is prox. 3600 sq feet with a fairly open floor plan and he moves all over without any problems. The headset is very comfortable and he has no problem wearing them for an extended period of time. After 25 years of marriage, two kids now in college to hear him say..."This was one of the best presents I have ever gotten!" is a true testamate in itself therefore I would HIGHLY recommend!

Customer Review: PERFECT, BUT JUST 1 THING . . .
Summary: 5 Stars

The RS 130 is the choice pick because it has Surround Sound. The sound is better than any other model. I am a long time customer of Sennheiser Wireless Headphones. The RS 130 is the best so far - hands down. The one and only problem, which is the most important, is the fact that the volume wheel has no clicks as you change the volume. The older series they sold with Surround Sound did have a click turning wheel. The reason for this complaint is because, most people by cordless headphones so they can lay in bed and not disturb the sleeping person next to them, late at night. The second you fall a sleep with them on your head, which most people do, the volume wheel raises the volume when it rubs up against the pillow. Even if you don't wake up, your wife does and has to reach over and try to turn the volume wheel down, so she can go back to sleep. This is the only flaw in the entire RS series of wireless headphones. I still give 5 stars for the quality, and don't believe any other of the reviews on the Surround. It is by far the finest sound quality you will ever hear. It takes even old prgrams and movies and blows you away. It's like having 6 speakers around your head in stereo at any volume level. The only other advise I would give to Sennheiser is try to make all the headsets slimmer, so when you do fall a sleep eventually, it's easier to turn your head on the pillow. Put back the clicking wheel and you'll have the best wireless headphones on the market. Buy the RS 130 set for now, and you will be in sound quality heaven. I am the Senior Television Editor for Time Warner Cable for the last 25 years - I know about sound quality. You will love it, and remember you can always switch the Surround off if you feel the need to. Sennheiser, please make more models of Wireless Surround Sound Headphones for variety. Thanks so much.

Customer Review: About the best you'll find in FM wireless headphones
Summary: 5 Stars

I work nights and watch TV all night on days off. I've used Recotron and Panasonics a few years ago- both had too much noise and crackle. I was hesitant to buy wireless again but saw the 130s- refurb on amazon for under 70 bucks and had to try them. When first tried them they were noisy and crackling like I remebered BUT then I tried a few channel combos and found a very nice and quiet one. They sound great and are almost silent (noise free) when watching TV. Most I've used would crackle and fade when you moved a half inch or turned your head- very annoying- these were awesome in that regard. That being said, you must realize that if you go into another room or more than 20 ft away it'll start fading and getting static. Mine does if I go to bedroom or kitchen (600sqft apt) but is tolerable and actually great for FM phones. ALL makers completely BS the ranges- if it's nightime and no breeze and you're outside and you live in a flat barren acre of the desert- you MIGHT get half the distance they quote. These are pretty much for same-room viewing and do a great job at that! Take the time and try a few different spots for xmitter base. If you have line of sight- you may consider IR headphones- never had em but supposedly digital error-correcting for nice clarity. Comfort is average- I find the cups too shallow and my ear hits the hard inner part- sore after a couple hours- but I can go hours each night no probs. It's winter and don't know how sweatty they'll be this summer? The good: best quality and clarity I've owned, refurbs great value, batteries are awesome (NiMH not NiCad), sleek auto-charging stand. The Bad- maybe uncomfortable for some, channel switch is 5mm from volume (always hitting it). Bottom line- one of the best value rechargable FM headphones out there, none are perfect!

Customer Review: Very Satisfied
Summary: 5 Stars

I spent a lot of time researching all the possibilites before settling on the RS 130. A good part of that time went to reading the reviews on Amazon. Background: my hearing, while OK, is certainly not perfect, so I wanted good quality, but top of the line would be wasted on me; my primary desire was to get away from wires (too much of a nuisance); I mostly, but not entirely, listen to classical music; I wanted something comfortable to wear over glass frames and that would not be too hot in the summer (I live in Florida and my window faces south); while I am not a typical audiophile, I am pretty knowledgeable about music so I wouldn't want anything that wasn't faithful to the composer. So far (a few weeks now) the RS 130 has met all my requirements. I haven't had any problem with losing a signal. I have found the volume control on the set to be quite convenient to use and not a problem at all, unlike some reviewers. I haven't heard any of the annoying noises mentioned by some, but that may just be a function of my own hearing ability. So far its been very comfortable, but I haven't tried it through a Florida summer yet. Unlike many reviewers, I actually like the surround sound (yuk, some may be thinking). Some have complained about the blinking light - no problem for me - it's not in my line of sight and I have so many other blinking lights on and around my computer that it just fades into the background in comparison. In addition to listening to radio (public and SiriusXM) and CDs, I've also used it for Internet radio and TV with equally good results in all cases. Overall comment. I'm happy I got it and can certainly recommend it to anyone who thinks he/she fits into my group.
