Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Sennheiser PMX80 In-Ear Sport Series II Behind the Head Earphones

Customer Review: Finally
Summary: 5 Stars

I have been through 3 pairs of headphones,JVC over the ear, the ones that came with my ipod, and the Shure210 in ear.I run 5 miles a day,5 days a week on a treadmill, through the neighborhood and through the woods. I usually drop between 2-4 lbs on every run through sweating.
What a relief to be able to still be listening to crystal, clear music from start to finish. I listen to Metallica,Priest,Iron Maiden,ACDC and Queensryche on all my runs. The sound is clear from the high pitch vocals of Queensryche, the screaming guitars of Priest and the bone thumping crunch of Metallica.I listen to all this music at about 95% volume
These headphones are the real deal for people who like to listen to music while running without the speakers going dead from sweat,or from just plain falling out from the pounding of your feet on the ground. I run at a 8mph pace and have yet to even have to adjust these headphones.

Thanks to all that reccomended them. I have finally found a pair of headphones that work through hard paced runs

Customer Review: Really good headphones!!!
Summary: 5 Stars

I was looking for a durable set of headphones that compliment my active lifestyle. I read several reviews and though these were a tad more expensive than I wanted to pay, they have so far been worth every penny. They sound fantastic and are powerful so I don't have to pump up the volume on my Zune. They are comfortable and water resistant. Most of the reviews were about running or working out. I am a cyclist and I was afraid that there would be some wind noise or that the sound would not reflect properly because the "phones" are forward facing. No problem. I also use them at work. One month in, these are wonderful. My first set of Sennheisers. Probably not my last...

Updated: There is some noise in high winds on the bike that headphones that cover your ears would probably not have. However, I still find these far more preferable to earbuds and headphones that cover your ears for my active endeavors. Doesn't change my rating, I just turn up the volume a little...

Customer Review: A Workout Workhorse
Summary: 5 Stars

I spent an entire afternoon sifting through reviews here on Amazon before settling for the PMX80. The reason? My Ipod came with the standard ear buds which sounded great, but kept falling out of my ears when I was using the treadmill or jogging. I needed ear phones that could take a good sweat, were sturdy, easily cleaned and comfortable while staying in my ears. I got all that and more with the PMX80.

The sound quality far exceeds that of the standard IPOD phones although I was able to get a tad more volume out of them. Not really a problem as they are plenty loud enough for my workouts. I guess the only thing I would do differently if I had designed them would be to have the wire coming out of the right side instead of the left, but again, no big deal, I just wear my Ipod holder on the left side instead of the right. All in all, this is a quality product that does what it was designed to do very well. I highly recommend it.

Customer Review: Stay in place during high impact training
Summary: 5 Stars

I've tried literally every kind of sports earphones there are, and these are the only ones that stay in place no matter what I do, be it martial arts, cross fit, jogging, gymnastics, etc. They're sweat resistant, lightweight, and Sennheiser is no slouch when it comes to audio quality. One small inconvenience is due to their awkward shape, they are not the easiest things to transport. If there is a "negative" worth noting it's when resting your head back on something like a chair, couch, or pillow the behind the neck bar can take a moment to position comfortably. Basically you simply push the bar down under the arch of your neck, and it's fine. Then again these are sports earphones, not couch potato headphones, so I use the word negative loosely. If you're doing sports, the bar "floats" behind your neck as it's intended to and there's no issues. Get these if you need light earphones that stay where they belong while you workout.

Customer Review: Great headphones for the intended job - sports
Summary: 5 Stars

These headphones simply blew away my previous set of sport headphones (Sony MDR-A35G). The only areas where the Sony's are better are comfort in the ear and the fact that the Sony's are fold-able. The sound quality of the Sennheisers is excellent for the job that they do as a sports headphone. Sound reproduction is excellent. You can hear the singer inhaling and exhaling, you can hear the pick plucking acoustic guitar strings and everything else in astounding clarity. One might say that they are lacking a little in the the bass department. But when compared to other sports headphones, these Sennheisers excel. I see people complain about the comfort, but you just have to get used to them. Here are some areas where they can use some improvement: there should be some way to manage the cord when not in use so I'm using an Etymotic cord winder; the color of them is atrocious and I would love another option on the color.
