Customer Review: Great Sport Headphones for Working Out
Summary: 5 Stars

These are great headphones for working out and outdoor activity. I use these daily for running and have also used them while snow skiing, weightlifting, lawnmowing, and hiking.

If you are looking for excellent sound quality, then go explore Bose and Shure Earphones. The Sennheiser PMX80 headphones are intended for sports and activity. The sound is good/solid but not excellent, probably due to making them water resistant. It is not quite noise cancelling, but just enough to get you focused on your workout.

I used the original bright green PMX70 regularly for 5 years before accidently washing them in a load of laundry. Oops! Unfortunately, they didn't fare too well immersed in water for 30 minutes.

I just recently upgraded to the orange sibling. Compared with the 70 series, this is built slightly better. The plastic used is durable and better balanced, fit is improved, sound quality is enhanced, and the added shirt clip is helpful.

Pro - good sound for a rugged sports headphone
Pro - durable, lightweight, comfortable, stays in place, fits securely
Pro - good construction, one piece wraps around back of head, single long cord with shirt clip
Pro - sweat, rain, and water resistant and can be washed under tap water

Con - Can become uncomfortable after a long period of time
Con - Excessive sweat can sometimes hinder sound
Con - Does not compare in sound quality to Bose and Shure Earphones

Customer Review: Great headphones for heavy sweating workouts.
Summary: 5 Stars

As a person who sweats quite heavily during workouts, especially running, I've been looking for headphones that don't fall out of my ears, and which don't get so clogged with sweat that the sound is compromised. (For me, earbuds never, ever stay in) The Sennheiser PMX80 earphones finally proved to be the ones I was looking for.

To start, they comfortably sit over the ears and the earphones stick into the ear--they don't seem as though they will stay in place, but they are rock-solid. NOTE: if you dislike the feeling of things inside your ear, or are extremely sensitive inside your ear, you may not like the way these feel. That doesn't bother me, personally. While running, they do not bounce around and they do not slide out, even during the most intense, sweaty workout.

They also remain fairly dry while working out--rather than getting so sweaty they clog up and muffle the sound, the Sennheiser PMX80s remain clear and comfy. You can also rinse them out under the tap if salt or anything starts to build up on the earphones.

The only caveat to them is that they have an extremely long cord, which can be nice, or it can get you all tangled up, depending on what sort of MP3 system you're using. The cord does have a small clip, though, so you can secure part of the cord to your clothing.

I cannot recommend these highly enough to anyone who is frustrated by slipping, sliding earphones. Definitely worth the price.

Customer Review: The best headphones for running!!!
Summary: 5 Stars

Over the last ~3 years I have been through 20+ headphones looking for ones that meet the following criteria, in order of importance:

1)Stay in my ears
2)Sound (actually just about as important as #1)
3)Comfort
4)Don't get wet with sweat that decreases the sound quality.
5)Price

I have experimented with pretty much every brand and several of the higher end models such as Shure and Ultimate Ears which were three times as much as these. I have also tried every type of headphone design such as "earbuds" (aka in-ear) and different varieties of "sports headphones" such as earclips, over-the-head and behind-the-neck type which these headphones fall into.

I have been using these headphones for over a year now, work out 6 days a week (twice a day on M,W,F), and have put literally thousands of miles on them as I am a marathon runner (I ran 4 in the last year) and they have held up incredibly well.

I actually bought a second pair just in the event that they break, I can't find them or I need a dry pair to wear. About 6 months ago, one pair did stop working in the right ear so I sent them back to Sennheiser and had a new pair in about a week with no questions asked!

In conclusion, I cannot recommend these headphones enough. I generally don't write reviews but I honestly feel that strongly about these headphones. Thanks and happy running. :)

Customer Review: Awesome headphones
Summary: 5 Stars

There's just one expression I can use to describe these headphones: AWESOME! Listen, I'm retired now, but I worked for recording studios for a long time. I love working out, but there's a problem, my kids say that I don't sweat, I drain. For this reason, the headphones I had used before these ones didn't last very long. Let's say two or three months at most. As you can see, I didn't have many choices; I couldn't find some really durable headphones, let alone with good sound quality. Then I found these ones, and I was appealed by the brand, because I know Sennheiser is a very good and reliable from my experience in recording studios. They didn't let me down! They're everything you can expect from a pair of excellent headphones. You name it: Sound quality? Far above the expression "the value for your money"; Comfort? Well, for the first time ever, I don't have to keep on replacing them while I'm working out as a result of wet ears; Durability? I've been wearing them for over six months and I can't believe they're still fine, rust-free. They're so easy to clean, and they also have an excellent construction quality, and finally, but not the least, everybody says they're cool. It's very common to see people coming up while I'm exercising just to ask me where I bought them. Sennheiser, I love you, thanks for making my exercising so enjoyable.

Customer Review: Great upgrade
Summary: 5 Stars

I had the original bright green PMX70 before that thing broke on me. (My fault though. I pulled a bit too much while taking them off and the silver painted case cracked. Exposed wires and sweat don't sound like a good idea.) I was bummed but those headphones lasted through walks, exercises and work days longer than more expensive headphones I had. I decided to spend a little more money on its upgraded orange sibling.

Compared with the 70 series, this is built much better. The plastic used is durable and better balanced. The ear pieces fit snugly onto my ears without squeezing my skull in the process. If you have a large head you'll probably want to steer clear of these.

The sound quality is solid, not quite noise cancelling but just enough to get you focused on your workout or your paperwork. The cord is long, so that clip keeps the wire from flopping around during a job. My only complaint is when I'm jogging the wrap-around in the back bounces a bit. The ear pieces are in place, but I can feel the back part moving in time with me. Weird, but not a major gripe.

The bright orange color has actually proven to be my identifier. I'm the only person at work or out walking that wears it (for now). Sennheiser makes great products that are worth the sticker price.
