Customer Review: Finally I can relax with games, music, and video
Summary: 5 Stars

Yes I know, I asked myself the same question, $120.00, and my finger hovered over the purchase button for many minuets debating if i should spend this kind of money. Let me assure you this head set is worth it. I have been on a quest for the perfect headset for years. I am embarrassed by the number of times I have returned headsets to Best Buy, not to mention the money I have spent on others I have purchased only to find out too late that I hated them. Although I will say friends and family were more than happy to take my cast offs. I have bought or returned just about every headset from the cheap ones to the Logitech surround sound. All I wanted was a solid set that sounded better than average, was solidly constructed (how many of you have ruined a pair by running over the cord with your desk chair?) and most importantly comfortable.

I am not an audiophile so I can't speak to all the subtleties of sound reproduction, but these sound great with a solid bass and clear high tones. They are not some monstrosity of gamer gear with all kinds on unnecessary bells and lights. Why do designers think gamers want headgear that even a pilot wouldn't put over his/her head? These seem to gently hug my ears with the luxurious pads. My ear lobes are not scraping against the inside. They do cause a bit of sweating but not too much. The over the head pad at first seemed like it was going to cause problems but after a few wearings seemed to break in nicely. These can be worn for hours with out discomfort. You barely know they are there.

The design is stylish. Construction seems solid, although i still worry about the cord. It would be nice if there was perhaps some other layer of protection to prevent damage to cord. It would have been nice to have a cord that was a bit longer.

The microphone is excellent and pics up your voice well even when you are trying to whisper as well as keeping out unwanted noise. I have finally found a headset i can be happy with for a long time.

Customer Review: Worth it.

Just got these in a couple weeks ago and they are by far the best headset I've ever worn.

Comfort -
I have a head the size of a mutant watermelon and these still fit me comfortably, and leave about 4 inches more room if I extended them all the way. When they said that it fits AROUND your ear and not on it, they meant it. If I press the headset in, even when the padding goes completely down my ears barely touch the speaker itself. Only complaint which seems to be a common one is that after a while it gets a little sweaty under there. I guess its a necessary evil since these are noise canceling, and have a closed design.

Microphone -
The microphone quality is amazing, and its the only headset I've ever worn while having a fan on without people complaining that it sounds like I'm talking to them during a tornado. Only complaint is that compared to my other microphones, this one didn't transmit very loud.

Sound -
Great sound quality, everything comes in crisp and never hurts your ears. I play a bass guitar, so to try out the bass on the headset I plugged these in to my guitar amp. I did things that would make most headphones cry, maybe explode... but I never had a problem with this headset. Bass comes in very clear, and never fuzzy, distorted, or monotone. Amazing bass quality.

Quality -
Right from taking these out of the box they felt very sturdy, still do after a couple weeks of abuse. This is a good, solid headset, much better than the other ones I've tried, even though some of those headsets were top of the line also.

Bottom line -
Amazing headset, I almost regret buying them since I don't think any other will compare if these somehow happen to break despite the quality. The price is steep, but I can't complain about that since it was worth every penny. GET THEM.

I received my headset yesterday, and simply cannot stop using it. I bought it to replace my Sennheiser HD 555's on my gaming PC, and now I may not miss my old cans. They fit nice and snug on my big head, and the sound quality can't be beat for the price.

There really is no comparison to other gaming headsets; Sennheiser basically took one of their audiophile sets and added a mic. Beyerdynamic did the same with their MMX 300, but then I wouldn't recommend the PC 350 to anyone willing to drop $400 on a headset anyway.

Bearing that in mind, I thought it was a little bit strange that Sennheiser neglected to include a 3.5mm to 6.3mm adapter. Most audiophile headsets are designed to be hooked up to amplifiers in order to get the full sound experience, and aside from the fact that it doesn't have an adapter, the PC 350 is no exception.

I normally plug my headphones into an A/V receiver that connects via optical from my PC, but it would appear that Sennheiser designed the plugs as default 3.5mm so as to cater to those who LAN often and can't afford to carry heavy amplifiers back and forth, and so I decided to give it a try without an amp.

As expected, plugging directly into my motherboard sound card via the 3.5mm plug yielded terrible results, with a lot of signal noise between the mic and the headphones. I found a spare adapter and plugged into my A/V receiver, then ran an extension cable to the mic port on the back of my computer. No problems so far with that configuration.

Pros:
Sennheiser audiophile-grade sound quality
Mic is crisp and clear
Sound isolation helps block out my noisy friends at LAN parties
Price ($150 versus the MSRP of $250)

Cons:
Designed for people with big heads
Needs an amp to experience the true sound quality

Customer Review: amazing sound quality and comfort
Summary: 5 Stars

Amazing sound quality. Some people have complained about a lack of bass with these headphones. I'm using a Creative X-fi Extreme Gamer sound card, and there is plenty of bass. The highs are a bit more emphasized, but you have to expect that because these headphones are made for gaming first and foremost. During gaming, the detailed sound quality has already made a huge difference. It's very easy to hear where your enemies are approaching from. Compared to any other gaming headset I have ever used, the PC-350 is by far the best for both comfort and sound quality. If you have a nice sound card and want or need to play your games with headphones on, this headset is a great choice. **One very important thing to note**: If you have this headset plugged into the headphone jack of a powered source, like a mini-amp or the headphone jack on an existing surround sound controller (like the one that came with my Logitech 5.1 setup) be aware that you can not have your volume in windows cranked all the way up. The headphones get very distorted with the main windows volume turned up too high, which I think is the mistake a lot of people are making. Instead, roll down your main volume in Windows to 60%, and use the volume control on the device you plugged the headphones into. This way you can get very high volume with absolutely zero distortion. I have not tried going directly into the soundcard because I'm not willing to unplug my surround speakers from the soundcard every time I wish to switch over to headphones. Also for the record, I have the in-line volume on the headset cable turned all the way up at all times. All of my volume adjustments are done with my powered speaker controller. The sound quality of these headphones is nothing short of amazing. If your sound is not totally crisp and clean, you dont have it set up properly.

Customer Review: Amazing headset.

I purchased this headset back in 2008 as the ones I were wearing at the time were a little too rough on my ears. I've worn this headset nearly everyday for multiple hours a day since then and it is still going strong. I work on the computer and occasionally game and between work, relaxing, and gaming, I am on the computer a lot - that being said I haven't owned a set of speakers since I have purchased this headset, so this headset gets used very often.

The comfort level of this headset is amazing. I can wear them all day and forget that I am wearing them. Even if I decide to wear my glasses, it still feels 100% fine. The headset actually goes around your ears and covers them completely, and not on top of them, which most headsets do (and often times begins to hurt after a short while).

The sound quality is also top notch. Playing games and listening for footsteps was made a lot easier with this headset. Listening to myself on the microphone or having others tell me how I sound has also been very positive over the years.

Sturdy. This word pretty much sums up the quality of the headset. The microphone is encased in hard plastic, not some cheap adjustable wire. The cord is also pretty durable. It feels like a thick rubber. I've ran over the cord numerous times with my chair and haven't even seen a scratch on it. The material around the ears is worn, but not wearing off. The cushion is still completely there, but the thin layer has worn off - Though it still feels 100% the same.

I've had this headset for almost 3 years, and consider it one of my better purchases.
