Customer Review: BASS JOLT!!!!!
Summary: 5 Stars

Let me at the outset clarify that the 5 star rating is intricately related to the fact I bought these for $20.99. But price aside these cans pack a Bass Jolt not for frail hearted.

Prior to thse I have owned the Sennheiser hd433 ( http://www.avland.co.uk/sennheiser/hd433/hd433.htm ).
The best part of the 433 was the perfect reproduction of sound. They were crystal clear !!.. and I had bought them in INDIA for a dollar equivalent of $50. That was back in 2002 and they still sound great apart from the fact their acoustic leak has increased too much.

So I went ahead and bought the 202 and man do they rock !!! .. They sound almost like packed with internal bass booster equalizer circuits. The sound reproduction is NOT "as is", as in that I am listening to my 25GB mp3 collection all over again. There is tremendous bass boost which I should add that some might find more heavy than required. Contrary to my belief that I would like electronic dance music better in these, Rock and Hip-Hop seem to dominate my list now. Rock songs sound incredible so if you're a rock fan don't miss these. I have personally been through some of the rock "stages" from metallica to rob zombie and from pink floyd to scorpions and all these now have a new sound.

As of now I'm into Paul Van Dyk stuff and these cans put me in the crowd with him there. The club effect is very high on these and I severly (& critically) recommend NOT to use these as your 1st Hi-Q headphones (instead try something like the HD 433).

PS:Please do not fall for the "too tight" or "low sensitivity" reviews. They get "loose" by use and we simply cannot blame Sennheiser for not knowing each of our Head sizes.

Customer Review: best cheap headphones
Summary: 5 Stars

I have lots of cheap and not-so-cheap headphones, mostly in-ear and open-ear, but also some closed-ear. As pointed out by most of the other reviews, the cost/performance ratio of these put them in a league of their own. They provide most of the performance of the Sony MDR-V6 Monitor Series Headphones with CCAW Voice Coil that I have at about a third of the price. I wouldn't recommend them for listening to music under ideal conditions - you should step up to the V6s or better for this - but they are great as a substitute under background noise conditions or for situations where you might lose/break them. I've been using these in my daily train commute for about a year now and they're still performing at 100%, so they're plenty durable. I agree that they can be uncomfortable after long periods of wear (say more than an hour), but I think that improves the more that they're worn. My one complaint is cord management - they have a very long straight cord, for which a plastic spool is provided, but this is bulky and I find the cord frequently comes unwound. I haven't applied myself to try to come up with my own solution to this, so I just live with the annoyance of having to re-wind the cord each time it comes unwound.

Finally, I also just bought a pair of Sennheiser EH-150 Evolution Hi-Fi Stereo Headphones and found that these appear to be identical to the HD 202s, except for a) silver rather than black headband and b) no cord winding spool. So if you don't need the spool you can save a bit of money.

Customer Review: Stellar phones for the money!!
Summary: 5 Stars

I originally ordered these headphones to use in conjunction with my metal detector. I am however, listening to the Beatles' White Album as I write this and am pleased to say that the sound quality is great! Even my brother, who spent sixty bucks on a pair of skull candy headphones was surprised at how good they sound for only costing twenty dollars (at the time of this review). I have yet to wear them for an extended length of time (over twenty minutes), but have found the fit of the headphones to be remarkably comfortable. Other than the great sound quality, if there was one thing I would say that surprised me about the headphones was their extremely light weight. I wouldn't describe them as feeling heavy duty...I imagine that if I sat on them they might snap in half, but that is completely irrelevant because that would probably happen with most headphones. The cord wrapping object that comes with these headphones is useful and prevents excess cord having to hang around, just begging to be yanked on and ripped out. In the beginning I was contemplating buying either these headphones, the Sennheiser HD 202s, or the Sennheiser 201s. Ultimately I chose these after reading that they had better bass that the 201s, and indeed these headphones give a good balance of bass. Anyway, this is the first time I have purchased or used a Sennheiser product and am happy to say that these headphones sound great for the money. Already I am hearing things that I have listened to dozens of times through my stereo like the White Album. For example on "Looking Through A Glass Onion" I had always interpreted Lennon's line "the walrus is Paul" as "the walrus is poor."

THE SENNHEISER HD 202s deliver!!

Customer Review: Somewhat unexpected results
Summary: 5 Stars

Well, I ordered these cheaper alternatives to the HD 280, which I was thinking of buying. Now to list my thoughts:

Pro:
1. Sleek, although big.
2. Cheap, thought not free.
3. Pretty clear sound, although not crystal yet. Maybe after a couple of days it'll "burn-in."
4. Strong Bass, relatively speaking, when compared with my old headphones.
5. Good packaging, I didn't even have to get the scissors.

Con:
1. I have big ears (huge), but I can't blame Sennheiser.
2. When it came out of the box, the left "phone" wouldn't produce as good sound as the right.
3. I almost broke the connector when yanking it out of the box, in my excitement.

Possibly Pro, Possibly Con:
1. Long cord, which is usually a good thing, but can sometimes tangle. I keep mine rolled up until I need it (which is never).
2. Gets relatively warm, but in polar regions that's a pro. If you sweat like an animal, it's a con.
3. Not open headphones. Closed headphones are good for insulating sound, but will not produce as good sound as open ones.

Final words:
If you want good sound quality, go with open headphones.
If you want good sound insulation, go with closed headphones (these).
If you want the best fit, get earbuds. They'll never be too big or small for your ears, unless your ear canal is really that small.
Personally, for good sound quality, I'm going to go with the HD 495's or maybe high-quality earbuds. For closed headphones, these will suffice, and I don't think the HD 280s are much better. So get these already, and don't yank the stuff out of the box like I did.

Customer Review: Best headphones I have ever owned
Summary: 5 Stars

Ok, so I am one of those guys who can't live without my mp3 player. I probably spend 3/4 of my day with headphones on my head. I really put my headphones to the test. I usually go through headphones really fast. Most headphones dont last me more than 3 months (my friends make fun at me and tell me I should get my headphones by the bulk LOL). These were the fist set to surpass the 3 months for me. Not only did they surpass the 3 months they actually lasted about 2 years for me. Trust me, this headphones were built to take some serious abuse. I used them for my computer, my mp3 player and my metronome for drum practice, so you can imagine how many times a day a connected and disconnected them. They went with me on every trip to my country of guatemala, which they got even MORE abuse there. From packing them in tight backpacks, to having them in the backseat of cars while people sat on them. I even got my cousin to buy one and he loved them. he then went ahead and bought a bose headset thinking that they would be even better. After paying 150 dollars for his headphones he felt dumb. We compared the headphones the best we could and concluded that these headphones are much better. The sound quality were exactly the same, I couldn't hear a difference nor could he (I study music so I would be able to recognize a difference). Also about 3 months later his bose headphones fell apart, while his sennheissers didn't. Finally I want to make it clear that after 2 years the headphones did not fail me, they were still going strong. It was my puppy that chewed through the cord. I strongly believe they would have lasted me about 5 years. So..dont hesitate and BUY THESE HEADPHONES.
