Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Sennheiser CX300-B In-Ear Stereo HeadphoneCustomer Review: The Best.....According To My Son Summary: 5 Stars
I bought these in ear headphones for my sons birthday, for he informed me that they were supposed to be rated # 1 in the world, or something to that effect. They not only come with several ear cushions so you can custom fit them to your own ear, but if my sons opinion is worth anything, according to him they are absolutely super. On a monetary level, I remain confused as to what the difference is between the CX-300B, and this model CX-300, both currently available on Amazon. Money wise they were just a dollar apart at the time of the writing, (the 300B being the cheaper). With the exception of the price, they appear to be the same model in the picture. I decided to spring for the extra buck and get this model, simply because he had told me to make sure to get the CX-300. I really don't know if there is any difference in them or not, beyond the extra $1.00. Since the 300B currently has over a 1000 reviews, mostly overwhelmingly positive, as oppose to my single one for this model as of this writing, I would swing my vote to the 300B no matter what your own son, or daughter tells you. Just my opinion mind you, but I don't see any difference between them. In any event, they are excellent, comfortable headphones and worth the money for either model...
Update: As is mentioned in the comments section of this review, I do believe that the B in the description stands for simply "black", which means I essentially paid a little more for headphones that appear to be black in any event. Despite that, I still recommend these headphones. I have listened with them myself and they are very loud and clear, and have excellent fidelity...
Customer Review: comfortable, great for "mismatched" ears Summary: 5 Stars
I'm a medical transcriptionist and need good headphones to hear voice files for transcription. Because my ears are "lopsided", I have avoided earbuds and similar headphones for years. My right ear just isn't as big as my left. Apparently, I'm not very symmetric. But many over-ear types of headphones make my ears itch after a while, and since I wear headphones 8-10 hours a day, I need something comfortable.
It was with the mismatched ear issue in mind that I tried these headphones, and I am so glad I did. The small size fits great in my right ear, the medium in my left, and overall this is a very comfortable set of headphones. They are durable and the cloth covers over the headphones are easy to take on and off and clean. The cord length is pretty good, although I wish it was just a little longer, just a couple of inches. The sound on music and video was terrific for the price point, but my equalizer and sound card output settings did require quite a bit of tweaking to get good sound on the voice-only files I listen to. Eventually, I achieved a really good balance and these headphones work great for transcribing, too.
I don't need sound cancellation on my headphones, but they do provide quite a bit of insulation from outside sound (and to keep others from hearing what you are listening to). You can put the buds in your ears so that it almost creates a vacuum seal, or you can gently adjust them so they sit comfortably but don't make as tight a seal. I discovered that was very handy this week when I had a cold and had ears popping all day.
Customer Review: Good stuff - the original Summary: 5 Stars
I started out with Apple ipod original earbuds. They lasted a long time, but since I'm a heavy user, they eventually wore out.
The improvement from regular earbuds to in-ear earbuds was much larger than I anticipated. External sound isolation, sound response and all measurable quality is so much better with in ear earbuds.
Before coming to the trusty CX300's, I tried two sets of a Koss popular model, but they tended to wear out in a few months. Then I arrived at these and there was a significant uptick in sound quality as well as durability.
Some of the best earbuds I've ever owned. I eventually switched because of a move from the original iPod Nano to the iPhone (Apple, in their infinite design wisdom, started requiring nonstandard plugs), because these no longer fit.
If you're a heavy user, be aware that these originals are significantly better than the new CX200 (II?), CX300 II's as well as the CX500. I've tried all of them (even several of some models) over the last 11 months. The sound quality is still great, but the main failure with all of them is the weakness of the phone connector - it just breaks down within weeks or months. I'm at a location where it's difficult to deal with warranty, so I've usually just bought new ones and it's become very expensive. I just ordered a set of Klipsch IMAGE S4 (several times the price of these) based on the CNET review.
Recommendation? Unless you're using an iPhone, go with these - you won't regret it. If you are using the iPhone, look elsewhere.
Customer Review: My Music In the Gym! Summary: 5 Stars
Sennheiser CX300-B Earbuds (Black)
I recently purchased Sennheiser's CX300 Earbuds. My son is really into computers and new innovative devices. He recommended that I do some investigation in sound isolation earbuds. After reading several reviews, I found the Sennheisers that I was interested in. After reading several reviews about the Senheisers, I decided this was the product that I wanted to buy. I am in the music education business, and I have had excellent success with Sennheiser products, so I thought why not give their earbuds a try. At this price, how could I go wrong?
I am a real musical prude -- if it's not Bach, Beethoven, Brahms, Schumann, (you get the picture), I probably won't listen to it more than once. I also workout in a gym where the latest pop music is constantly played. With my Sennheisers, I won't have to ever hear the words, "she moves her body like a cyclone, if you like it then you should have put a ring on it, and my all time favorite (just kidding) I kissed a girl -- I liked it." These earbuds isolate the sound so well, that I can play my music on my refurbished ipod nano at a reasonable volume level and block out 90% of the gym music. I really look forward to my workouts, and even more now that I can listen to my preferred classical music.
This is an excellent product at an excellent price, and it does exactly what I need. I love my music and I love my new Sennheiser CX300 Earbuds!
Customer Review: Great value for what it's sold for. Summary: 5 Stars
Any budget-strapped teenager looking for quality should consider this product. Considering the fact that these earbuds used to be premium, $50+ earbuds, the [...] price change is a welcome sight for the eyes.
These earbuds are many steps above the earbuds included with any Ipod or music playing product. It is very durable for the uses intended for it.
In school, it is great for blocking out the irritating noises made by various freshmen.
This earbud's quality may not be the best, but it is the best for this kind of money. Don't go looking for the best, perfect sounding earbuds under $30 bucks. It usually doesn't work that way...
It is a very comfortable pair of earbuds. It even includes other sizes you can put on there, to determine whether or not you want it inside your ear canal or snug right outside of it. However, it is prone to being lost in anything that scrapes against it too hard. Like your pocket.
I have abused this product and have used it for over a year; there is still no sign of one earbud losing any sound anytme soon.
One cord of the earbud should be shorter than the other one. This keeps the earbuds from being torn off of your head by something or being caught on an object if you wear them running behind your head.
I would recommend this product for anybody looking for quality at a low price. It can also trick your friends into thinking that you just forked out $60 on a quality product. This makes it great for gifts.
