Customer Review: Excellent ear buds for the money !!!!
Summary: 5 Stars

After trying several ear buds out and I have finially found a winner that didn't cost an arm and a leg. I have tried Etomic and Shure that cost $180 and yes they sounded great, but they cost a lot!!! Plus I always found something about them I didn't like. For that kind of money you better love them.

The Sennheiser CX 300 are very similar to the Sony MDR-EX51. They have the same type of fit and come with 3 sizes of ear buds. They produce very good bass with nice highs also. The sound with the volume level all the way up with an ipod is clear. Also very loud!!! Comfort is good. They are very simple to put in. They block out a lot of external noise, but not completely like the Shure do. Personally I like this better. I can pause the music and still talk to someone without removing them.

The only thing I don't like is the asymmetrical cable. I see no purpose in having one cable longer than the other. The cable going to the right bud is very long and hangs down. I tied the excess to the main cable to keep it from flopping around. Just personal preference I guess!

I would recommend these if you are looking for an affordable upgrade without breaking the bank. I'm not going to say they are as good as Shure e3c's (which I tried) but for the savings they are!!! They also have a 2 year warrenty.

I would buy them very soon if you want them. The manufacture was listing them for $50 when I first saw them. Now they are at $80 msrp. I bought them at J&R on a pre buy for $35. They have already raised there price to $50 plus shipping. Amazon still says $40 shipped free. This won't last long!

Good luck and enjoy, I am!!!
Tim

Customer Review: Beat the Shure E2C
Summary: 5 Stars

I bought these about 5 days after receiving my newly purchased Shure E2C canalphones. Anyone who is considering those as well may want to read my review on the Shure's if you can't decide. The Sennheisers have satisfied me after literally the first 5 minutes of use. The bass that was non-existent in the Shure's is almost all there. I was looking for a replacement for my Sony Fontopia's, which have a good deal of thumping, booming bass. While the Sennheisers are not quite as deep, they still get 5 stars since they sound considerably more "real" in the mid range. At first I thought they sounded clangy but after comparing the Senn's and the Sony's, it turns out the CX300 have the right amout of mid and the others were just too bass-heavy.

If you like to listen to popular music with good, thumping bass, the CX300 are an excellent choice. Many people have complained about the cord noise. I have been using canalphones with this "horrible defect" for 2 or 3 years now and trust me you get over it pretty quick. I use canalphones even while jogging and the cord noise does not detract severely from the musical quality. I just see it as the price you pay for the sound isolation you get from the in ear design. What noise you may get from the cord is still insignificant compared to the noise you would be experiencing from the ambient environment.

In short, please read my review on the Shure E2C if you want a more detailed comparison. The CX300 have all the positives I noted there (except the behind the ear design) and none of the negatives I commented on.

As long as the cord, which seems a bit thin, holds out, I'm shure I will be enjoying these for another 2 years.

Customer Review: Good sounding durable earbuds for the right price
Summary: 5 Stars

Sound: It's about as good as your going to get for this price...sound stage is small and high end is a little flat but mid range is good and it's got the trademark deep Sennheiser bass. I mostly listen to indie rock and house/techno.

Durability: I have had these buds for 5 years and they have only stopped working now. They have gone through some serious wear and tear from being bundled around with keys in my pocket and thrown here and there and they've stood up to the test smartly. The durability comes from A) The downright unbreakable L-shaped jack (this is the bit that goes into your mp3 player) and B) The extra length of wire that links the left and right ear. Some people here have complained about this but I think it greatly adds to durability. For me, most earbuds break at the connection between the wire and the actual bud but with these buds, you only have tension pulling on the left bud as the wire to the right bud hangs freely. I have gone through 2 'high end' IEMs (which have broken at the wire/bud connection) in the time that I've had these buds, which is a testament to their construction.

Value: Cheap for the quality of sound and durability.

Overall: It always amazes me how people here write reviews of products they've only had for a few days. As evidenced by the many amended reviews for this product (but not star ratings as unfortunately Amazon doesn't allow this), these buds only reveal their true colors after a few weeks/months. If you're after great sounding (ie, much better than the stock buds bought with most mp3 players, including iPods) for the price, that will last longer than most of the competition, then buy these buds.

Customer Review: 1/2 the price of Amazon ($25), 2x the sound of Shure = 4x
Summary: 5 Stars

Ok, so i like to think of myself of as an audiophile. I have owned many great pairs of low cost headphones (Senn HD202, Senn HD212 Pros, Bose Triports, Shure e2c, and countless koss headphones when i was a kid) and i have to say that these are the best, not just for the price, but the best headphones i have EVER owned.

To start this off, i would like to let it be know that i got these off from eBay for $25 shipped. Just make sure you get ones that are still in original packaging because china likes to copy these brilliantly designed headphones.

I thought that the asymmetrical cord was going to get annoying, however i love it. For sound quality these things blow my shures away! These Senns have made me start listening to my music more! I now carry my ipod around everywhere.

I have also got to admit if you are worried about how comfortable in ear headphones are, don't be with these! These are comfortable and do NOT fall out, granted, i have not done any running in these, but i don't think they would fall out. I even fall asleep with these in. Laying on the side of my head! and they still don't bother me.

For $25 this is the best investment i have ever made when it comes to electronics. These things caused me to hear more subtle details than any of my other headphones combined.

GET THESE NOW! I PROMISE YOU WONT BE DISAPPOINTED! ESPECIALLY IF YOU GET A DEAL LIKE I DID!

If you do get these, PROMISE ME that you will listen to this song through them!

Incubus - Aqueous Transmission

You will never buy another pair of non Sennheiser headphones again!
Bravo Sennheiser!

Customer Review: These are FANTASTIC, I aleady owned these for 2 years
Summary: 5 Stars

The previous pair I owned were put through workouts at the gym, taken into the sauna, stuffed into my backpack for flights, caught on the stairs and pulled out of my ears as I ran up the stairs, and have never ever failed. The bass is deep, the buds fit all ear canals as they come with every size and Sennheiser is a high quality headphone maker so you cannot possibly go wrong there either.

The cons... well, with these, there really aren't any I have found... they are PERFECT for iPods, and honestly, I bought several because I'm afraid I won't be able to find these again and over the years I've tried so many and either returned them or given em away. People who have tried these swear by them...

Oh and best of all, they block out noise, they block out the airline sound, they allow you to actually listen to movies on your laptop, the cord is long enough to put a splitter on your laptop and two people watch a movie. We use two of these earbuds with a splitter and have plenty of cord to move around even when we get a "complimentary" upgrade with our frequent flier miles to first class...If you've had the uncomfortable occasion to share a movie with someone with headphones and a short cord, you know how frustrating that can be!

So I hope this has been helpful, the sound, that is most important, look at the stats, I'm a media junkie, I have a Apple Macbook Pro, sounds great, I have a Android (Google phone) works great..., I have an iPod, sounds fantastic, and the pc, it sounds great there too.. My absolute favorite is my ipod mini though... that is where I prefer because these are light and the iPod works best with it.
