Customer Review: Great buy
Summary: 5 Stars

I had a older pair of sony EX51 from Best Buy cost $50 in 2006, it had good bass, but never impressed me in sound quality, although it had great bass and natural mids but lacked distinct high frequency in music, I always thought was MP3 quality of music I downloaded.

Not anymore with this pair of Sennheisers. I put this pair on, first impressed me is the fit, the bad reviews about fit worried me, but this pair fits my ear perfectly. Then I noticed immediately the high frequency in music I never heard before. May be they were in it but just sounded too flat to even notice. The clarity of music is distinct, you can tell the different beats going on at once, where sony's are mushed together. CX-300 sound more dynamic because bass is good, never over powering, yet clear and strong, highs are clear, never tinny or sounded sharp. To me this make me feel there's a EQ turning up the highs but is better because it's natural.

The cord is also perfect length, I can have ipod on left or right pants pocket without a lot excess wire like sonys. I never felt the cord dragging down the buds. The wire is thin but I'm confident it was all part of engineering to be light and I'm sure they'll be strong enough for years to come.

When I was wearing sony headphones for a while, even if music is not loud, when I take it off, I can't hear very well for couple minutes, I didn't have this problem with CX-300, I was amazed because CX-300 have just as much bass.

For $15 this is a steal, I would recommend this headphone 10 times over and Sennheiser won my future business.

The only thing I do wish is that Sennheiser would gold plate the connector, sony does it, and gold plated connector do last a bit longer than chrome, I guess it's too much to ask for only $15 shipped.

Customer Review: A winner
Summary: 5 Stars

I bought these after being dissatisfied with the Sennheiser PX 100 Collapsible Headphones. I've had them for four days and used them extensively (at least four hours daily) in that time.

Included are three sets of "ear adapters" (small, medium, large) so you're likely to find a fit suitable for you. Note that the use of earbuds can be dangerous, depending on how well you fit the ear adapters, as virtually all external noise is eliminated. I wouldn't recommend a city pedestrian (or anyone else in a situation with the need to be aware of external sound) to wear these!

These earbuds handle bass far better than the PX 100s. In fact, all around, they sound much better than the PX 100s: they pass the "Nirvana Nevermind" test (bass and drums sound fine) and the classical music test (various Mozart, Beethoven, and Bach pieces sound good).

Also, unlike the PX 100s, I can wear these for hours at a time before I start to feel a very slight soreness in my ear canal. I can also sleep on my side with only a very mild discomfort.

The cord is a bit "rubbery" which transmits vibration (from rubbing against your clothing, say), but this effect is minimized if you wear the right (longer) ear cord behind your neck as is recommended.

The cord is about 3½ feet long (could use about a foot, IMO) and has a 3.5 mm L-shaped plug, which is safer for your MP3 player as much less force is transmitted to the socket should you accidentally "lever" your player with the plug.

There is no carry pouch included, product description notwithstanding.

Overall, the pluses far outweigh the minuses should earbuds satisfy your requirements.

Customer Review: Good Sound; Good Quality; Hardy Headphones
Summary: 5 Stars

Prior to this purchase, I bought many disappointing earbug type headphones from Sony, J-Buds (returned twice) and Phillips. None lasted having suffered from wire damage due to my activities and the non-stop use of my mp3 player. The Phillips lasted the longest, but still none of the aforementioned brands lasted long at all.

I've been eyeing Sennheiser because of the reputation for good sound. I decided to try the CX-300-B earbuds in Dec. of 2008; the price was decent and somewhat decent reviews.

Well, it's nearly 9 months later and they are still going strong despite abuse--serious abuse--tugging on the buds, stepping on wires, catching wires in hair, drawers, doors, etc. No other brand lasted more than 3 months.

Highlights are great sound; very good noise cancelling; quality wiring; angled plug.

The sound is high quality (base and treble are tight). Regarding the comment about sound carry when wires are touched--I don't generally have a problem w/ that. It's a hallmark of noise-cancelling buds, so I deal.

The buds fit superbly and haven't degraded (torn rubber, loosening fit) like others. I actually dropped a bud in a cup of coffee once. It survived and still sounds great.

The wiring and angled plug really seem to help prevent damage. Also, the rubber on the wire has a "sticky" quality--like a high friction material--that seems to prevent the wires from sliding around so much. So, they tend to stay where I put them.

All in all, when these buds finally succumb to my abuse, I will re-order a pair of these.

Nice going Sennheiser.

Customer Review: Great in-ear buds!
Summary: 5 Stars

I bought these back when there were $15+FS, so I know I got a good deal. They sounds good, and really isolate the outside noise. I actually bought 2 for an extra, but its been about 9months now and still no need for the second pair as these are lasting quite good. I use them 10-12hrs a day, everyday since I got them, and not one single prob. So the durability is great on these little critters.

It is J shaped, which oddly enough seems weird as I did come from the Creative Y shaped IEM's. But didn't take long to get used to it and I sorta like it as I can leave 1 ear in and the other behind the neck so I don't have to worry about the cord pulling it off. I use it for PC gaming, I use it for music, and use it most for TV. All which I have no problems hearing anything that I need to hear, and no distortion. I can't say I'm a audiophile, but considering wearing big headphones all day isn't comfortable, I love these so much.

I never get aches, half the time I have to get my hand to feel them in my ear to check if they are even in if I'm not listening to anything as they get so comfy I cant tell if they fall out :). I love being able to watch TV and if our yappy Chihuahua barks, I can pretty much drown it out with little volume needed so I dont blow out my ear-drums.

1 Downside is the cord is short, but since I had a 6ft extender, I had no problems with it being on the short side. It should come with an extension TBH, but even then, seeing as Amazon has 25ft cords for like 3-4bucks including shipping, its not that much of a negative.

All-in-All, I was happy I purchased 2, and So far I cant stop saying how much I love em. Even at a higher price, they are pretty much worth it if your looking for IEMs.

Customer Review: The Price Is Right!
Summary: 5 Stars

These are definately better than the stock Apple iPod earbuds and more comfortable to wear. They do a nice job isolating outside noise come with 3 different size earbud cushions so fitting them to you ear should be no problem. The sound is a lot crisper and brighter with good bass report. The left earbud wire is significantly shorter than the right side, probably to differentiate the two or to provide better comfort when wearing them for activities. They are not overly short nor overly long in length. They have a rubbery feel and the wiring springs back straight without memory effect.

I read some of the reviews here where they are compared against higher end earphones, some costing over $300, and these headphones are then given poor ratings. Folks, at the time of this posting the Sennheiser CX300-B's are going for $21.99 with FSSS. Comparing them to $300 Shure headsets is NOT a fair comparison! Yes, they dont compare to these higher end models but I didn't buy these hoping that they would. I simply wanted a better audio experience than I was getting with my iPod earbuds.

I am extremely happy with the Sennheiser's and can only recommend them if you want to replace your stock iPod earbuds or any stock headphones for that matter. If your an audiophile hoping that these are going to miraculously give you high end Shure performance, let me save you the trouble and tell you they wont. But if your interested in a low cost alternative and upgrade to stock earbuds, the Sennheisers deliver an audio improvement without breaking the bank.

Don't take my word for it, over 450+ reviews rate them at 5 and 4 Stars.. You can't get any better at this price so jump right in and get them.
