Customer Review: Amazing, especially for its price!
Summary: 5 Stars

I got these headphones a little shy of a year ago, around 10 months. When I got them, I immediately burned them (or broke them in, I didn't literally burn them) and let them replay white noise, pink noise, high and low pitches, silence, etc. When they were done burning, I tested them out, and they were amazing. I'm not exactly an expert on earphones but I can say that these definitely deliver. The bass is not muddy, and the highs are very defined and clear. Do note, though, if you do not like bass too much (I am personally a basshead) then cross these off your list. If you have something with a lot of bass, like rock, then the vocals may become drowned out. A way to counter this, if it bothers you, is to adjust your player's equalizer.

They come with the earphones and three different tips. I personally like the asymmetrical cord and whether I wore the right cord around the back of my neck or not, it didn't really cause any problems. It also made it easier to tell which cord was left and which was right.

The phones are excellent at reducing outside noise, but they do not make it seem like you are in your own world. They do reduce outside noise, but they do not cancel it.

These are definitely worth their price, however, there is only one thing that was wrong with these phones. The wire is pretty thin, and as a result, the connection on my left earbud died. This won't necessarily happen to you, because I am pretty rough with my earphones, and constantly wind them around my mp3 player. However, even though they have an L plug (which I love, by the way) you still have to be careful. I would advise not wrapping them around your mp3 player or iPod or portable music player, just to be cautious.
I feel like this isn't too much to complain about, though, because they lasted a decent 10 months before breaking. And they performed perfectly those 10 months.
When my pair broke, I was going to get another pair, but I'm going to get the CX 300 II's. I'll see how that one is, too. :D

Bottom line, these headphones are great, especially for their price, and I recommend getting them.

Customer Review: Light, Cancels Noise, Supurb Mids....I like already!
Summary: 5 Stars

I'll begin by stating that the pair I received were absolutely NOT counterfeit! In a short 2-3 days I am ready to make my first confident review in the Sennheiser CX300. I have never heard of this company before, but for years I have been a stickler for getting at least "good" audio quality out of my earbuds. My MP3 player of choice is the Zune and I purchased these strictly for for Zune 120GB...yes, the one w/o the built in EQ. Fear not my Zune fanatics, I am here to save the day! There is also a Zune 30GB (White, 1st Gen) in the household which belongs to the wife. This one was passed on to her as this one was mine since the summer of '08. I still suffer separation anxiety with that one mainly because that one HAS the built in EQ.

I won't go into Microsoft "jibber-jabber" but i'll say that I am greatly satisfied with the Sennheiser CX300! For testing purposes, I used them in both versions of the Zune and I must say that the EQ WILL be the X factor. After listening to T.I.'s "A.S.A.P" with the "Hip Hop" EQ preset I could'nt help but smile with contentment of the lows & mids. The highs were surprisingly crisp for a Hip Hop setting, too! I then moved the earbuds over to the Zune 120GB, and to my surprise, the Sennheiser CX300 sounds pretty good with a "flat" EQ setting. You may be deterred by the other reviews about the mids, but I consider it to be an upgrade to the Sony's I originally bought last summer Sony MDR-ED21LP Fontopia In-The-Ear Headphones. Now, these had decent mids and lows. The CX300 has highs that are more crisp...not tinny! The CX300 also stayed put more with it's plugging ability.

Don't worry, the cord is not to long and the fact that the right earbud is longer is no big deal. You supposed to run the right one around your neck for ergonomical reasons. They come with three different rubber add-ons to fit in your ear. The smallest ones fit in my canals and stay in well. Noise cancellation is above and beyond expectations. These are great...not perfect, but darn good! A 4.5 out of 5 at best!

Customer Review: Outstanding value for the money!
Summary: 5 Stars

I purchased these headphones based on the reviews here and the price. I own a pair of Shure SE210 headphones which are incredible, so I felt like I had a good product to compare the Sennheiser CX-300 to. I bought the Sennheiser's specifically for wearing underneath my helmet when I ski and snowboard. The SE210's stick too far out of your ears to make them comfortable under a helmet. The CX-300's profile is perfect for this application.
Sound quality is outstanding in these earbuds. As many others have noted, the bass is outstanding. If you love the thump of the bass range, these are the buds for your. Midrange and highs are good, just a little less clear than the SE210's. Overall I still prefer the SE210's sound, but these are a very close second and 1/3 the price!
Comfort is amazing with these phones. They are really light, the interchangeable cushions that come with the CX-300 are really soft and silky. They are very easy to swap off and on to achieve the seal you want in your ear. It should be noted that the seal is very important to achieve the sound quality these phones are capable of. I've never been a big fan of the offset cords on some earbuds (the left and right cords are different lengths), but Sennheisers suggestion to run the longer cord around the back of the neck is very comfortable (the cord is very light and has the same nice silky quality that the earbuds have) and actually reduces the tug on the earbuds from the weight of the cord. This comes in very handy when using them for running. I've used them several times while running and they stay in the ear very nicely.
I'll end by saying that my wife has never liked wearing headphones. She has always claimed that they hurt her ears (not the volume, the actual wearing of headphones hurt). I let her try these and you should have seen the smile on her face. This is the first set of phones that she can wear with no pain. I guess I'm going to have to buy another pair!

Customer Review: 300X Sennheiser buds
Summary: 5 Stars

First off, I love music. No one is paying me to respond to these buds,I believe in the truth.
The first thing you need to decide before buying these is what type of music you like listening to.
If you like heavy metal with deep sounding bass and ok high guitar rifts These baby's are for you.
If you like the highs with tight far away bass your probably looking for Sony Ear buds.
I had Sony ear buds they were clear and great with the highs but the bass just never got there for me.
The other thing was the cord they lasted maybe a month but that's not Sonys fault I beat things up pretty much.
The other pair of buds I got are the Altec Lansing UHP336 upgrader series headphones I bought here at Amazon.com. The directions on Altec Lansing phones is very obscure so I really don't know which ear is left or right but the sound of the Altec Lansing is top notch. I bought them here for like 30 something bucks.
This knowledge in hand, here is the result for $14.00 Sennheiser 300x ear buds on this Amazon site. The 300x are better than the Apple phones, and the best Ear bud phones I ever heard for the price. The comfort and ease of use is extraordinary. The bass on these phones are incredible the treble ok. The short end of the cord goes in the left ear and the right the other. The cord built seems a little old fashion which is good that means it's built much better than the Sony cord. If you want something that will last almost forever with a durable cord and a sound out of this world with a little reading and work buy the Altec Lansing UHP336. You want high crisp sound, ok bass, and a weak cord buy the Sony. NO MATTER which one you choose buy 2 300X's before they change the name and charge you 40$ for them. Sennheiser makes a top of the line product. These are great. One other thing if you have a laptop stop listening to the speakers installed. Plug in some ear buds and welcome yourself to a new world.

Customer Review: Great sounding earbuds
Summary: 5 Stars

I have had the Sennheiser CX 300Bs for about three weeks now. I am very satisfied with this product. I use them for 1 hour in the morning and 1 hour in the afternoon 5 days a week on my public transportation commute. I listen to everything from Sinatra to Zeppelin to RUSH to Crystal Method to Count Basie.

The best way I can describe the highs and mids is that it is pretty much a flat response (A representation of what the engineer wanted you to hear when mixing the song. No EQ needed). The highs are clear, but not brittle or crackly. The midrange sounds full and clear as well. I was blown away by the bass response and actually felt a little confused by not being able to feel the physical vibrations from a sub (not really, but you get where I am coming from).

With these buds in and with the music even at a lower level it is almost impossible to hear any outside noise that is at a normal level. These are perfect for travel, but probably not the best things to wear while walking through the wrong section of town at night due to the fact they block out the outside world so well.

They fit great and don't pull out of your ear when you turn your head. The right bud's cord is a little bit longer enabling you to run it behind your neck which works very well. It seems that all earbuds are designed like this today. The cord is long enough to attach to your playback device and walk with your hand by your side with slack left over.

The only drawback to these, if there was going to be one, would be that they did not come with a travel case. Even cheaper earbuds have a case included to protect them while not in use. I am not sure why Sennheiser felt they did not need to include a case with their 50+ dollar earbuds, but they didn't. Other than that I am very happy with my purchase and would recommend them to anyone that is looking for a great sounding, quality in-ear monitor.
