Customer Review: Expensive, but worth it. Summary: 4 Stars
I have 4 Freeagent GO drives and love them!
You don't always want to use the USB cable and lay the drive down though - you sometimes want a nicer presentation, more space or something a big more secure than just sitting it on the desk. That's where this comes in!
This is a stylish dock with a secure connection (no need to worry about the drive when its plugged in to this).
With that said, it's kind of expensive (it seems like it should have been included), but even worse - it only comes in white! With the FreeAgent drives available in all sorts of colors, the white doesn't always match. Something people may not know is that the manufacturer makes a glossy "Piano Black" version of the dock which looks FANTASTIC, but is only available in the expensive Seagate FreeAgent Go Special Edition 500 GB USB 2.0 Portable External Hard Drive and Docking Station ST905003FNA2E1-RK (Black with Chrome Trim) . I actually spend a bit more money to get one of these Special Edition drives the last time I was getting a new drive. If you don't need the fancy look of the black dock, or if you already have a drive, the white does the same thing - just a different color.
The drive has 2 USB plugs on the end - you can use one or both (if it's an old computer, you might need both to give enough power to the drive).
The product is easy to plug the drives into (you don't need to force it) - it even works with the larger 1TB (double-sized) Freeagent GO drives!
One of the other big selling points is that it includes a case (something that should have been included with the drive, not the dock). It's a leathery case - not too much protection (one end is left open) and no storage pockets for cables, but it's slim and better than nothing!
