Bought a new iPod Touch 4 to supplement my iPod classic. Few of my docking stations/chargers worked with it. Did some on line searching and discovered the change in charging as other reviewers have mentioned. The Scorshe adaptor was mentioned in an online article as a possible fix. This little gizmo was 49.95 on the Scorsche site. Then I had the brilliant idea of checking Amazon. For $18 or so I can now use all my iPod classic docks and adaptors without any problems. It works on all of them. I have thought of buying a second since this is tiny and might get lost when I travel or am in the car. Generally, there's not much for me to say about this adapter. It connects your iPhone3G or higher to a dock for iPhone or iPod Touch 2nd Gen. It does it well, it has great sound quality, it's compact and solid. The only thing I don't like is that it doesn't lock to your phone. It's a trivial thing, some people would rather have it unfasten freely. I like my docks to click on my iPhone so they're secure and I know they won't get disconnected by some accident. Again, not a huge deal. For the price and quality, this is a great adapter. Just know that it doesn't click in and stay locked, it'll slide out if you pull lightly.Customer Review: Best little Gadget!!

I'm not a techy person at all and when I plugged my brand new iTouch in to my Scion's iPod connector thingy, I was bummed to see the error message come up like others have seen saying charging wasn't supported, blah blah.
I Googled the error and this Scosche adapter came up. Seemed inexpensive enough and the reviews were pretty good so I went for it and I'm glad I did! Plugged it in to my Touch and then the car connector, done, works perfectly with no fuss.
I also plugged it in to the stereo connector we have in our Motorhome and it works just as easily.

I was facing a problem with XCarLink iPod Interface that cannot operate my iPod Touch 2 Gen properly. I read so many threads on the net claiming that Apple change the level of voltage between old and new versions of ipod. Old versions support 12V like cars voltage but newer ones like my iPod Touch 2 Gen support 5V. Even though that Scosche passPORT adapter intended to resolve the voltage issue but it also fix the issue with my car iPod Interface. Now my iPod is working well with XCarLink iPod interface and charging as well. Glad to own it :)

This works well with my 2006 Volkswagen (with the OEM iPod adapter) and my new iPod Touch 2G. There is some lag in controlling the device through the stereo (and it sometimes gets confused, skipping several songs when you try to skip only one track) that didn't occur with my old iPod, but the adapter was made before this iPod so I'm happy it still works at all.
Definitely worth the money (considering the $200 I paid for the iPod adapter) to keep it working with the new iPod, espec if you are going on any long road-trips...
