I was a little skeptical based on some of the review, but I can happily say it worked out for me! Hooked it up from the CDI200 Pioneer iPod cord to the iPod Touch and viola.....it charges the iPod and has ZERO issues with the AVH-P4000DVD interface, menus, and features. Can't say much more, not one single issue other than maybe the actual size of this adapter. Not too much of an issue for me as I have plenty of space in my Mustang center console. I am running the newest Apple firmware 3.1.3.
This cord was almost useless with out being able to charge the iPod, now it is perfect and I can leave it alone and not worry about it!
UPDATE 3/17/10: OK, found a flaw for me, but not a big deal to me, but buyer should be aware. When I play podcast videos on my Pioneer headunit, the picture has wavy line across the whole screen. I tested it with out this adapter and the picture is 100% clear. I dont really play video since I have DVD capabilities and charging is way more important to me than the video. Sound quality is not affected with either music or video. But it is definitely worth noting.

OK, I ORDERED AN I LIVE DOCKING SYSTEM FOR MY IPOD TOUCH. IN THE DESCRIPTION IT SAID IT WORKS WITH ALL IPODS, SO I THOUGHT THE ALL IPODS MEANT MINE TOO. I GOT THE DOCKING SYSTEM AND WAS SOOOO EXCITED. THEN I PUT MY IPOD IN THE DOCKING SYSTEM AND IT GAVE ME A MESSAGE THAT IT DID NOT CHARGE MY KIND OF IPOD. I LOVED EVERYTHING ABOUT THE DOCKING SYSTEM, BUT REALLY WANTED ONE THAT COULD CHARGE MY IPOD, IN CASE I WAS IN A PLACE WITH NO COMPUTERS OR ELECTRICITY. I DIDNT KNOW WHAT TO TO. I CALLED APPLE AND THE GUY WAS SO HELPFUL AND HE TOLD ME ACOUT THE SCOSCHE. I ORDERED IT WITH HIGH HOPES. WHEN I GOT IT I PUT IT ON MY DOCKING SYSTEM AND SLIPPED MY IPOD ON IT AND IT IMMEDIATELY BEGAN CHARGING MY IPOD. WHEN THEY SELL THOSE DOCKING STATIONS THEY SHOULD TELL PEOPLE ABOUT THIS PRODUCT. I LOVE IT SO MUCH AND AM SO HAPPY WITH THIS LITTLE BLACK BOX. I'm not a big technology person. Especially when it comes to electronics. So when my daughter bought me a new Ipod for Christmas I was thrilled. My old original one was acting up and radio stations are almost non-existent out in the country where I live. But when I installed the new Ipod it kept going dead and I couldn't figure it out until I called the company, duh. So I find out that there is no way to charge it while connecting it to my car like my old one. The company that installed my stereo and connection years ago wanted over $50 for this same little adapter locally. I did the research and found this one obviously on the internet. It was a miracle. It was so easy to use, hookup and presto I have my music. Not a single hiccup since first hooking it up and it has solved that irritating issue of a dead ipod day after day. What a simple solution. Just received this today. Paid for 2nd day shipping and it arrived in one day! (Ordered at 8:30am / shipped from KY to north of Boston - overnight.) I had a Griffin converter that worked... "OK". (Lost in a rental car last week.) The Griffin had weak connection point with the iTouch, it was too small and easily misplaced, flimsily made, etc. (About the size of two quarters in thickness.) The Scosche passPORT adapter works really well with my Bose SoundDock in the house and the after-market iPod connection in my Accord. No noise just great sound. It not only charges while it is playing - now my 3G iTouch charges without the key being in the ignition. Awesome. I think this is the best one yet. Very sturdily made. I will most likely buy the USB Home Charging one so I don't have to keep switching out the passPort from the car to the house. Bought a 4th Gen Nano to replace stolen unit. The new Nano was fully controllable by Apple/BMW interface but would not charge. Also seemed to run down really fast. Imagine my dissapointment while driving through the North Gerogia Mountains and suddenly my music stops only to be replaced by whatever it was on the local FM station. Nothing to drown out the banjos. Called Apple-they seemed clueless, the Tech did not seem aware of the problem, or that Apple even supplied interfaces to BMW. Don't think he gets out much. He put me on hold until the connection was lost. Went to a BMW chat site and read the recommendation for this device. Ordered it and it works fine. No longer get the no-charging message and it is fully controllable from my radio. It is large-but it stays in the glovebox when I remove the Ipod. Not happy with Apple for this poor design and lack of customer support.
