I haven't had this wireless very long, 5 or 6 weeks, but it's done everything I expected it to do - hold a charge all day and night, allow me to trigger the shutter from various ranges - without worrying about infrared's line-of-sight angles - from relatively close, with the transmitter behind my back for a family photo, to forty feet away in another room (with a hallway and a wall between - the benefits of radio frequencies as opposed to infrared).
In one of the reviews, someone mentioned they experienced a shutter lag with this product. This caused me some hesitation, but as it was only one reviewer I decided to give it a try. I'm glad I did. If there's a shutter lag it's imperceptible to me.
Another reviewer complained about the charging indicator lights on the receiver (they were too dim), and somebody else didn't like the directions. I didn't have any problems with either - the directions were clear to me, and the indicator lights...I can't see how they'd be a problem, whether I can see them from far away or not.
There's a 3-position switch on the receiver, and a 2-stage focus/release button. Each serves a definite and clearly-defined function. The transmitter has two buttons; one is focus, the other is a release. It really can't be easier to use.
It also doubles as a tethered remote - no battery power required, just use the 2-stage button on the receiver (plugged into the N3 remote socket on the camera of course). Unlike Canon, this company gives you a cord that is a reasonable 40" length.
The units are entirely plastic, and it's probably not the highest-grade plastic on the planet. But it feels sturdy enough to take a beating. There's really not much that can break - the weakest link on mine is the charger, which feels like I could pull it apart if I tried. But why would I try that? (!)
Satechi is all about customer service, as evidenced by their follow-up emails to me, asking whether I got the product on time, if it was satisfactory, etc. It may be nothing more than a form letter, but so few companies do it that Satechi sets themselves apart from the crowd.
I look forward to doing business with them again.
